Original Request: Nations in Space prompts have been done before, and they were lovely. They were, however, mostly soft and happy and romantic and maybe a bit lulzy.
I want something dark and maybe a bit sad, although if you want a happy ending, that's okay. Just push on all the ugly tropes of space drama and all the horrible things that could happen, along with a dead/dying/lost Earth, and, oh, maybe some of the first nations who went up to space...being completely out of contact/thought to be lost-dead. If you want to cross this over with any other space thing/alternate future/creepy alien race, go for it.
Notes: Impending character death.
Summary: He and his people left certain disaster on Earth to only met disaster and tragedy in space. And England knows for certain that he will die, alone, as well. It's just a matter of when.
