The freshmen had lowered his gaze as far down as room had allowed during the brunt of the hug, but once Ivan had pulled away, he looked up at him. His eyes felt a little hollow when he was asked if he had been good. The other man’s use of the word was often his only warning and even if it hadn’t been used in such a way, the reflexes didn’t forget. “I’ve been doing pretty well, what about you?” he returned, hoping to keep the conversation mellow.
His body continued to shake as his head was petted. That voice and its strange praise were quickly driving him to tears. But, he had to say something, “Yes, I finally grew. Still haven’t gotten to five four yet, though,” he said, trying to fake a smile and make light of the situation.
His heart sunk even further at Ivan’s itinerary. Raivis couldn’t have been caught at a worse time, it seemed. His eyes watered up a little as he was pressed more firmly onto Ivan’s body. His hands moved to Ivan’s chest, just lightly sitting there. “O-o-of course,” he stammered, “R-really… lucky…”

The corner of his mouth twitched a bit, almost as though his smile had cracked, for a split second from the memory of that. "I have been very good, thank you. It's been boring playing with less than half the people I knew from high school though. You remember the Bad Friend Trio, yes? They're here too."
He continued to apply pressure to the poor boy's head, tugging curiously at a few curls here and there. "You're right, but there is still some time left to grow before you become an adult. I can always help you with that if you like~"
His smile grew more mischievous as he stared down directly into the boy's watered eyes. It was eyes like those he missed the most, ones that showed very clearly how scared and worried he was. "So now that we can be together again, mind showing me where your dorm is?" He turned his head towards the Franz Joseph I building and gazed up at it. "I assume it's in this building."

The Latvian recoiled a little as he saw the miniscule break in Ivan’s expression. He had no way of knowing what had caused that… but he hoped desperately it wasn’t him. He started to calm back down to mild heart attack level as he noticed the smile had only slightly faded for a moment.
He didn’t remember the Bad Friend Trio that well, honestly. He probably hadn’t spent a whole lot of time around them. If they were Ivan’s age, then odds were that it was only one year at the most in High School. “Oh yeah… they’re seniors like you, right? That’s still pretty interesting that so many people from High School are here,” he offered.
The tears continued to form at Ivan’s growth suggestion. He didn’t even know what that could mean. Growth was a natural process… Though, something reminiscent of a medieval torture device did come to mind. He figured it was best not to remind Ivan that he was actually an adult already. “W-w-well… hopefully it doesn’t come to that.”
Raivis shivered a little harder against the hand on his head. He didn’t want to show the senior his dorm room, the idea making him pale further. Lying was out of the question, though. “My dorm room? Oh yeah, it’s in there, but it’s nothing special, just… uh like everyone else’s. Probably more boring, actually.”

He nodded his head. "Yes they are. They were the silly little boys that used to get in trouble a lot. I even had one of them live with me in the dorms for a while," he said, giggling a little when he thought back to that, "He was very... affectionate. But enough about me. Did you make any new friends yet?"
It's not like it mattered anyway, seeing that he was bound to meet them eventually, but he couldn't help but ask. If he saw that even the shy one made more friends than him, then he would just have to fix that. He didn't think it was fair to keep them as all to himself. He took his hand off his head, and lightly patted his cheek. "It may not be necessary at all. Let us hope that."
His smile grew wider, hinting a bit of mischief between the cracks, after learning to was in fact where he was staying. "Well even if it is boring, I would like it see it. That way I know where to go when I want to visit you. You will show me, yes?"

He tried to remember more about the Bad Friend Trio. Given their name, they had to be pretty infamous. Who would even want to be called that? The giggle gave him another emotional jab, even though he wasn’t the cause of it. Affectionate… he wasn’t so immature that he couldn’t guess what that meant. Yet another person Raivis would have to try to avoid, even though there was no reason to assume he’d have any interest in him.
Raivis thought about Ivan’s question. He didn’t know if he could really count the older student he had met at the picnic as a friend. He had been friendly… but perhaps he was just polite. He also had really had much contact with his roommate yet, so he couldn’t be counted, either. Then again… he wasn’t sure he wanted to tell Ivan that he hadn’t made any friends. That seemed like a bad idea. “W-well, just a couple. Never too late to make a new friend, though, right?” he asked, smiling past his tears.
“Y-Yeah,” he responded with an abbreviated nod as he felt the hand on his cheek, which sent a shiver down his already shivering body.
Raivis’ attempt at remaining out in open and not showing Ivan his room failed. He didn’t have any way to continue to stall, either. “O-of course, I-I just don’t want to waste too much of your time,” he replied.
He gulped, “We can go there right now.” He couldn’t really go anywhere the way he was being held. It almost made him want the arm to never leave his waist.

It had been a long time since he actually heard of their group name, so he wasn't even sure if he had the name right. Still, it wasn't hard to forget such strange, rowdy people, and that's all that mattered to him. He doubted Raivis would meet them anyway, unless he went to one of the college parties. In that case, he'd definitely have to escort him for his own protection.
He didn't continue tightening his hold just yet, since he approved of Raivis' answer. He didn't like the idea of his friends being alone, which was why he tried to get them to hang around him often so neither of them felt lonely. He failed to realize the problem with that, and may never will. "I'm glad to hear it. I made a new friend too. He's really shy like you are."
He finally decided to let Raivis go, only to quickly grab his hand right afterward, his large hand nearly swallowing up the boy's smaller hand. "Do not worry about that. I have plenty of time to spare, so let's go." With that, he made his way inside the building, while dragging Raivis from behind.

He didn’t know how to respond to Ivan having a new friend, especially if that friend was shy like him. On a selfish level, it would mean that Ivan’s time couldn’t be focused on himself. But he couldn’t feel good about Ivan giving his brand of affection, either. It didn’t really change how he had to reply to Ivan. If he liked the situation or not, he had to pretend he did. “Th-that’s good, where d-did you meet him?”
Raivis exhaled as he was let go, his body relaxing momentarily. The hand grab slapped him back into tensing. His hand was too small to hold Ivan’s hand back, though he still tried. Appeasement was the key to survival. His arm was soon feeling the pain his spine had been relieved of as he was dragged through the doors of the building. “W-well that’s good to hear… it’s on the third floor…” he said as he tried in vain to keep up. As it was, he could barely find any footing, so his walking was sort of haphazard.

He understood quite well that friends are supposed to stick together and support each other, but he failed to grasp that they shouldn't hurt each other. He thought he was doing it for their own good. That reminded him of his new friend. How was he going to deal with that one? It would definitely be different, but he figured time will only tell. "I met him at the picnic the other day."
He would've held on tighter to Raivis to avoid him trying to escape, but he doubted it'd be necessary. The boy was too fragile to mishandle anyway. He could shatter his hand if he held on any tighter, much like his spine could have been. "All the way up there? Looks like we're taking the stairs then!" Even though he knew that there were most likely elevators they could take instead, he wanted to drag this out as long as possible.

As long as Ivan’s new friend hadn’t told the tall student his schedule or dorm location, he was probably free from Ivan’s clutches. If he had any faith in humanity, which he did, then he would have to believe that no one would surrender that information while they were surrounded by witnesses. If he did, then there was no helping him. “O-oh, h-how nice,” he replied.
“Th-the stairs?” he questioned weakly as he was pulled toward them. Raivis looked as the elevators left his view. He wasn’t sure he could take that cramped space right now anyway. Being in a closed area with Ivan would probably just speed his grim fate along. At least taking the stairs would take some of the Russian’s focus, it always took his. He had also found another reason to appreciate his room’s location. If Ivan thought it was a hassle to go up to the third floor, he may not come as often. “Good idea,” he agreed.

His big-boned body disagreed with his idea to use the stairs, what with the long walk he just took, but he assured himself that the exercise would be good for him. Especially with Raivis around to keep him company. So as they climbed up the stairs, half his mind focused on the stairs, while the other half was on the boy. "I'll have to get used to doing this a lot, yes? Lucky for me, my room's on the second floor of the Jeanne D'arc building."

It was not easy climbing stairs and being pulled, his uncoordinated legs complained each step and there were a lot of steps. Even with the jerking that came from the pull, he did his best to keep his eyes trained on the surfaces, trying not to miss any.
“Oh, that’s a nice building.” It was also kind of far, obviously not too far of a walk for Ivan, but at least they were confirmed to be in separate buildings. He didn’t ask for a room number. He was stockpiling excuses to not see the tall Russian for as long as possible. Anything that seemed like an out was worth remembering.
“Almost up…” he said, more to himself, as they started getting close to the top of the stairs.

"It is. I think it is one of the best buildings, but maybe I'm being a little biased." Finally they reached the top of the stairs, yet he kept his grip on Raivis. He looked around the hall, then realized that he had no idea where to go next. "So what iss your room number?"

“Y-yeah,” he replied out the building, not really sure what else could be said.
Raivis was kind of tired by the time they got to his floor. It was a lot of stairs for his short body and they had been moving at a taller person’s pace. But now that he was there, he wished they still needed to go up a few more. “I-it’s three oh six,” he replied, not attempting to lead the way. This was going to be a very long walk down the hall.

His body was relieved once he made it up the stairs, but he wasn't done just yet. He still had to make it to Raivis's room, which seemed to be pretty far away. "Alright then," he said as he resumed moving along. He didn't need him to lead since the buildings were quite similar.

Raivis nodded as he was pulled once again. It actually didn’t take that long before they had reached his door. “H-here we ar-are… h-home sweet h-home,” he said with a shiver as he went to get his key. The few keys he had jangled as he pulled them at and slowly moved it to lock. With a deep breath, he turned the small piece of metal and opened up the door, removing his key. “L-like I said… not much to see.”

Even if the room wasn't much, he was still excited to see it. There were all kinds of things he wanted to learn about his old friend, like if he kept some of his old hobbies. "Yay!" He cheered as he went inside. Browsing the place curiously, he realized Raivis was right. There wasn't a lot to see. He wasn't going to let that get to him though. "It's nice and simple, yes? I like that."
