October 2016 News Roundup
Hey everyone. So considering the slowdown of activity here and elsewhere, I thought it might be a good idea to make a big summary post - in the spirit of something like hetalia-daily - at the end of each month for people who aren't checking every day for sporadic news updates. (Also this is a pretty blatant effort to foster more activity and discussion here.)
News Bulletins:
-- More Information and key artwork is now available for the new Hetalia musical, ~The Great World~, slated to run in Tokyo and Osaka during November.
-- Chapters of Chibisan Date are being published on the denshi-birz website in their entirety to advertise the recent release of the Chibisan Date omnibuses. The website did a similar campaign back in 2015 with Hetalia: Axis Powers Volume 6 in order to advertise Hetalia: The World Twinkle.
-- Himaruya launches a new series, I-it’s not like I like this kind of movie, ok? A highly recommended movie that I actually love but probably shouldn’t advertise that fact, on the denshi-birz website. He reviews horror movies he enjoys and provides some sporadic illustrations, much in the style of some of his older blog entries.
-- On Hetalia Day, 10/21, Funimation celebrated by hosting a Facebook Live event where they watched Hetalia: The World Twinkle and held a party. A video recording of the event is still up for viewing.
-- Funimation also held a Halloween photo contest that ended on 11/1. Winners have yet to be announced.
-- Animate is selling Hetalia-themed cakes through commission through November 30th and it comes in a special Hetalia bag.
Coming Attractions:
-- Hetalia: The World Twinkle will be released on DVD in the US and Canada on November 8.
-- The new musical, Hetalia ~The Great World~, is slated to run from November 10-20 in Tokyo and November 26-27 in Osaka.
-- A collaboration with Karaoke chain "Karaoke no Tetsujin" will be held from November 10 - December 11 to advertise Hetalia ~The Great World~
-- Animate will begin selling Hetalia-themed Christmas cakes through commission from November 11th - 30th and orders come with a special Hetalia bag.
