Yeah! I think Lithuania is a bit too good-hearted to hate Russia, but even he would get fed up after a while, right? So to the battlefield, young nation!
A nice, cozy relationship maybe? Where they're sort of codependent in a way, maybe...
I sort of want to explore that side of their relationship now... Because it really does seem ridiculous to think that Liet would care about Russia if all he's ever gotten was abuse, right? They must've had a very nice relationship prior to that...
Thank you, I'm glad you took an interest in this! I agree that Lithuania wouldn't just let things happen to him, he'd have to allow them in some way or other. Estonia was the most active, huh? Perhaps that's why he can speak up against Russia without being too afraid, because he's the one most likely to rebel? Liet seems like he'd be an amazing opponent, I think that perhaps before Ivan went insane he and Toris might've had a relationship of mutual respect for each other's strength. (Though I too, wonder how Liet came to be as he is...)
You're welcome! I don't like antagonizing countries, and I really don't see Russia as some "I'm going to destroy you all just because I can" kind of guy. And as for the country well, hey every nation makes some well-disliked political moves, right? We all just do it because we want to achieve something greater and more lasting.
Well, it's not often that I see an original and well-written attempt at the pairing, so I felt obliged to comment. =) I'm not sure whether Estonia is the most brave and rebellious of the Baltics, but he has always been the most hostile towards the Russians. So yes, maybe that's why he's not really afraid at the world meatings. I don't remember him fighting much before, though.
It's true, every contry's government can make a blunder, but Russia's is just having a bad decade or something - blunders come one after the other. It seems that Ivan is missing telling everyone what to do. Anyway, I hope it will be over soon. Maybe Hetalia will finally teach all of uы to be tolerant and understanding. =)
Ah, it's not all that. >//< Huh, I feel this merits some more research. Eduard seems to be the character that's sort of...forgotten, so my interest in the country itself hadn't really developed, but that makes me want to really look into the matter, because it could possibly give a new dimension to Eduard's personality.
Well, surely the government will be blessed with someone who truly wants to put things back on track, if it hasn't been already. (In true American form, I'm really behind on current events, so... I haven't a clue.) It would be amazing if Hetalia had that sort of effect, and I don't think it's impossible for something like this to grow into something larger.
Yay for brave Liet :3 I was looking forward to this one since I do love Russia/Lithuania
I usually don't like how the Baltics are portrayed as "weak" :C To be occupied that long and to keep their language, culture, religion etc is amazing. Poor Russia though. In terms of the actual "character" of Ivan, I always seen him as a grown up child from an abusive home so you're right, he isn't really "evil" or "bad" just... yea... can't think of what I'm talking about right now
Liet's just too cool when he goes into battle...! Russia/Liet is addictive, I was looking forward to writing it, too~!
Yeah, they're a lot stronger than they're portrayed, so I was hoping to put that strength in here, a bit. Poor Russia indeed, he really does seem like someone who was just never given the time to grow up properly, and was then forced to make too many decisions. He's just a bit misguided.
This is the seconds story I read that features the Forest Brothers, and it's awesome. I really want to read more about Lithuania and its heroes but those stories always make me sad. Poor people went through so much it breaks one's heart. I adore every hetalia fic that shows that struggle. Very good job characterizing Lithuania and Russia and also the rest of the Baltics.
There's another one out there? Do you know where I could find it? I'd love to read more about Lithuania, too, both the character and the actual country. They seem like such an amazing nation, to go through so much and still come out independent. Thank you!

Liet's got a glorious fighting spirit, so it does seem to fit...But what a thought it is!

And yes, Lithuania is amazing. To think that I knew nothing about the nation before Hetalia.... I'm glad I found out.
