An Affair to Remember

Matthew Williams, also known as Canada (more or less), was worried. Really, really worried.
His sister had shown up last night at his house, crying. For the first two hours he was unable to calm her down or get any information from her and had been about to start crying himself, when she ran into his kitchen and gorged herself on his ice cream. Perhaps it was the sugar overload or maybe she was just dead tired from all the crying she’d done, or maybe it was a combination of both, but it didn’t take long for her to fall asleep on his island.
Matthew sighed and took her to one of the guest rooms. He’d talk to her tomorrow.

She looks better Matthew thought as he watched his sister shuffle about his house. She wasn’t crying, so that was good, but she still wasn’t talking either. He had been planning to have breakfast with someone else, but had called to call it off because he really didn’t trust Alice alone right now.
“Mattie? Are you making pancakes?” She asked as she peeked from the kitchen door.
“Yeah. How many do you want?”
She walked in and nibbled on her bottom lip, shifted awkwardly for a minute or so and then sat down on the breakfast table, “The usual.”
Matthew laughed and nodded. He turned back to pouring the batter and knew that she would soon start talking. Inside he smiled proudly, no one could resist his pancake and maple syrup breakfast and just for her he was also preparing bacon.
She didn’t start talking until after they’d finished eating. When she did, it was in a low quiet voice that should not be coming from her mouth.
“Um…sorry for just, uh, running in yesterday,” she looked away and ignored when Texas slid down her nose.
“That’s fine,” Matthew answered.
“Uh, well. We, I mean, Ivan and me, we, um…broke up,” Alice sniffed and her sky blue eyes were beginning to tear up again and Matthew knew just how much it was hurting her.
Alice really did love Ivan. Even throughout the Cold War, she had confided in Matthew that she did still care about Ivan and that it really was tearing her inside. But she was America and democracy had to stand up to communism and (“I still care about him Mattie!” She had cried) it would all turn out okay.
And it was also hurting him to see Alice, his strong/tomboy-ish/impulsive and slightly stupid sister so hurt.
So he spent all day with her, ignoring everything else, and tried to comfort her as best he could.
And later, near midnight, Matthew had a stroke up genius! He rushed to his phone and, grinning widely, dialed the first of four numbers.
oh poo. this really pales in comparison the the first fill, but i really wanted to try it out! enojoy!

Oh, not!op anon really likes this so far! And this story is awesome (How can it not be, Matthew's there)! Hope the next part comes soon~

I love this line because I could actually imagine America doing this as a guy too. XD
