When Roderich was heading out later, he turned and looked at Germany and told him, in a very serious, confident, everything will work out between you two tone, “I’m sure it’ll work out Ludwig, you’re both pretty ridiculous in different ways, you two are made for each other.”
Germany was at least happy in the knowledge that he had made Austria his favorite cake but had "forgotten" to offer it.
---------------------------
Germany was feeling more optimistic after having those drinks at lunch and decided Austria was right, not in the way he thought he was right calling Prussia and him ridiculous, but he could try apologizing again. He walked up the stairs toward Prussia’s bedroom door. It was still locked. He knocked on the door.
“Prussia?” There was no answer.
Germany knocked again. “Ost, open the door please?”
“I’m sorry about the stuff I said, I shouldn’t have.” Still no answer.
“Come on, talk to me, Gilbert. I’m sorry.” He tried turning the knob to see if Prussia might have unlocked it. “Damn it! I’m apologizing you idiot!”
He tried knocking again. When nobody answered this time, he left, his good mood ruined.
Inside the bedroom, Prussia had turned away from the door but had heard Germany. He was upset and hated being upset.
Prussia didn’t want Germany saying he was sorry. Prussia wasn’t all that sure what he wanted from Germany, maybe some acknowledgment that he was needed or missed, but he wasn’t going to ask for it so he just kept quiet.
--------------------------
Later in the evening, Germany started making calls. It had been 3 days since he last saw Gilbert and had seen him eat and he was worried about his health.
“Switzerland, this is Germany, you haven’t been feeding Prussia have you?”
There was a long pause on the other line before Vash said anything.
“No I don’t think I am an idiot. I’ll take that as a- no?“ the line on the other end went dead. Switzerland didn’t even answer his question, though he could rule him out of bringing food right? Maybe he should call Denmark next? He started dialing Denmark’s number hoping he actually got a yes or no answer this time.
--------------------------
While Germany was suffering, calling all the countries he suspected brought Prussia food, America had already snuck in the back and climbed to Gilbert’s window, only to find it locked.
He rapped on the glass hoping it wasn’t too loud.
“Gilbert! Hey Prussia, you want food? Ok, I’m leaving- hey!“
Prussia’s sudden swinging open of his windows almost caused America to fall. America was about to curse at him when he looked at Prussia’s face and saw him looking more pissed off than was usual. Prussia then left him there and went back into his room. “Come in inside already!”
As America went inside and made himself comfortable in his chair, he looked at Gilbert’s annoyed face and hoped the uneasiness of the morning wouldn’t come back. “Why so angry now Gilbert? Look, I bought beer; I didn’t know which you’d like so- well-.” He handed Prussia two bags with beer in them.
“Hey, are these from Weihenstephan? Thanks, I thought you bought your bad, cheap beers. And I’m not angry, I'm upset because you’re just stupid, you’re stealth skills are terrible. I’m surprised Germany didn’t hear you making all that racket.” Despite the rebuke, Prussia was grinning and America grinned back. The beers worked! America was glad Prussia was being less depressive.
A happy Prussia was much easier to be around than a depressed Prussia.
Alfred looked at Prussia with his Big Mac and beer and felt a sense of fraternity with him.
“Always with such grateful praise for the man who comes by to feed you, Prussia. You’re welcome for the food and the beer. Pass one here would you?” He’ll definitely ask Prussia out for more drinks and stuff after he patched things up with Germany.
After all these days he felt Prussia was becoming somewhat like a good friend to him now. America wondered if Prussia wouldn’t mind him coming back even after his food delivery service ended.
Prussia looked at Alfred, looked at the beers and asked, “Why should I waste this good beer on you?”, but amicably gave one over to Alfred anyway.

At 1am and after the beer had run out America decided to head home. He wondered if the monks who used to live in Weihenstephan used to get drunk. Weren’t religious people not supposed do stuff like have fun and all that?
Prussia was sleepy and a little tipsy, and cooing at his chicks.
“You know, America, ever since I holed myself up in here, you’ve come by and tomorrow Canada will come by, and I’ll have to invite Sealand to come by too, I don’ think England let’s that poor kid drink at all!” Prussia was laughing. “Sweden and Finland might have, if they didn’t take their parental responsibilities so seriously now, poor kid, poor kid. I feel pity for him, don’t you Alfred?”
“Yes, Gilbert.”
“I mean I’m getting good food, and now good beer, tomorrow good maple syrup; who knows who might next show up at my window to bestow upon me free, delicious gifts.” Prussia had certainly cheered up since the evening started. “I mean I deserve it, with my awesomeness, but it’s nice to get it acknowledged and stuff--” Gilbert yawned and went to lay down on his bed. “Don’t forget the beer tomorrow, America.”
Maybe it was the beer, maybe it’s because America felt a sort of friendship had been formed now, but Gilbert didn’t have that sad air of loneliness anymore either, that had made America so uncomfortable before. He wished Gilbert luck with whatever he was trying to achieve locking himself inside his bedroom.
Before he left to climb back down the three floors he had come up, he remembered Matthew asked him to tell Gilbert about Kumajirou.
“Matthew said he’ll come by with the pancakes tomorrow morning, but wanted me to tell you that where he goes Kumajirou goes too.”
“That’s his boyfriend or something? Ok, whatever, bring more beer tomorrow.”
“Kumajirou is the polar bear!”
“Your brother dates his polar bear?”
“He doesn’t”-Prussia was laughing at him now. “You idiot, good night.”
------------------
When Germany went to bed he still didn’t know who was bringing food to Prussia, but he realized he was really starting to miss his brother. Romano’s insults, instead of being annoying, had seemed comforting, familiar, well, Gilbert never insulted potatoes, but it was close.
He wondered if he would have any luck tomorrow and hoped he did.

Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~ I wanna hug both Gilbert and Ludwig for being two ridiculously stubborn senseless brothers, or in some other manner that Roderich would put it. Oh Roderich, so blunt. =] Hah~
Lol~ Ludwig's "I miss you" is gonna sound as close as it gets to "I love you"... XDDDDDDDDDDD
Vash! Oh gawd~ Vash! He rarely appears in fics so I'm glad you included him, even if just a smidge. ^^ Oh yes please do bring in the Nordics too... Heck, Ludwig can even try calling Russia... or maybe not.
All in all, wholly enjoying this to the max! *presses F5 button*

Thank you. If you could point out some of the language problems, as I said English isn't my first language so sometimes I will write a sentence and it just might not come out right. I've reread it to keep my storyline on course and I've noticed too some sentences could use an edit. Only problem I really don't know how to fix it. XD
I'm glad you're finding the characters fun and lovely.
