"I should've known that sticking around you would get me into trouble," Arthur hissed.
"They don't know that it's you," Alfred said.
"I don't dress like this even during weekends, Alfred."
"Only Antonio and Francis know about this."
"Francis thinks that we're dating! You imagine how many girls would kill to know how your supposed girlfriend looks like." She was irate now. As usual.
Alfred was quiet.
Arthur glared at him. "You must've been dropped on your head when you were a baby. Most female students here would gladly murder me if they see me on the streets dressed like, well, dressed like a girl!" She made sure not to talk loud enough to be clearly heard outside the door.
"Well, don't worry about that, Artie," Alfred said with a laugh. "I'll be there to be your knight in shining armor!" He grinned and gave her a thumbs up.
Arthur had stared at him for a bit before sighing and massaging her temples. "I just had to tell you, of course. It's not like you're about to grow a brain and actually give me a reasonable answer."
"No, I mean, seriously, think about it! While you go off doing your girly shit during the weekends, I could be there beside you. Protecting you from the evil that is my personal stalker unit!" Alfred slammed his hands on the table with a maniacally wide grin on his face.
"Why, that's just peachy, Alfred. Sure, hover around me during the weekends and be the knight in shining armor... that I don't need at all. Just who do you think I am?"
"A woman in need of manly protecting?"
"Shove your chauvinist thoughts up your nose. I don't need protecting. I just don't want the extra bother they'll start giving me."
"Yeah, but I'm still kinda curious to see how you live during weekends."
Arthur raised an eyebrow. "Are you planning on stalking me?"
Alfred shrugged. "As much as my knowing that you're a girl could take me."
"And you're blackmailing me as we speak, aren't you?"
"Glad we see eye-to-eye, Arthur Kirkland."
"Could you stop stressing my name?" Irate, that was one thing that could describe Arthur that moment.
"But, really. It's so easy to tell Francis a few words. I don't think it'll be that hard to make the news go mainstream." Alfred shrugged nonchalantly.
Of course, Arthur thought, he'd be nonchalant because he wasn't the one being blackmailed. She frowned and made use of the fact that her armchair was one of those that could swivel. When Alfred wasn't in front of her, she then said, "Do what you want." It was a tactical retreat, she told herself. It wasn't as if she was completely admitting defeat. No, no. This was just the beginning.
"Coolness! I'll meet you at Benny's, nine sharp then."
"Nine in the evening, Alfred?"
"... Are you stupid or something? The morning, of course."
Arthur would never say how much it hurt her to be called stupid by someone like Alfred.
"Tomorrow, too. Because it's Saturday," Alfred said.
"I'm not that stupid," Arthur argued.
"Well, I could've been talking about Sunday, too."
A tic developed on Arthur's forehead. Again. Alfred would make creases grow on her brow far too fast for her to be comfortable with it.
