The Talent Show [2/?]

Alfred sat cross legged on his bedroom floor with an acoustic guitar in his lap. All round him lay lyrics with chords scribbled above them as well as chord charts and instructions on how to read chord charts.
When he'd told Arthur that he could play guitar, he'd been half lying. The American teen could strum random things that sounded pretty good and hum along in a bright tenor, but that was about it.
"Back in 1836," Alfred sang softly, squinting at the lyrics and slowly moving his fingers to change chords, "Houston said to Travis get some volunteers," A pause while Alfred fumbled to move his fingers, "and go," another pause to put them back, "Fortify the Alamo."
It was at this point that Alfred's step brother walked by and poked his head in, "What're you doing?" He asked leaning against the doorpost.
"Go 'way, Matt," Alfred mumbled back, craning his wrist trying to put his fingers in the right position for another chord, "I'm trying to figure out what to play for the talent show."
"Oh, you're doing that too, eh?" Matthew smiled, "Jose was gonna play the drums, maybe you guys could do something together."
"There's no way in hell," The guitarist deadpanned, "I'll play in a band with your dirty Spanish boyfriend."
"He's from Cuba," The other replied hotly, pushing his glasses up on his nose, a blush started to grow on his cheeks, "A-and he's not my boyfriend."
"Your friend with benefits then," Alfred snapped back, "Whatever, look, if you're not going to help me pick a song, could you go away?"
"Alright, fine then." He turned to leave and stepped on a piece of paper, "Wha's this?" He turned it over to see lyrics and chords for "Take It Easy" on the other side. "How about this?" Matthew handed the page to his brother who examined it, experimentally set his fingers up for a few chords and looked at the page again.
"Yeah," He said softly, but rapidly grew louder, "Yeah, this could work. I'll show that limey jerk who's got talent now!"
"Limey jerk?" Matt echoed with a confused face, "Oh, Arthur." He chuckled softly, "Have fun with that, Al." His brother didn't reply as he eagerly hunkered down to learn the chords for his sure fire hit.

*screams* Take It Easy? By the Eagles? Oh ANON! You have won my heart forever. I love that song. I love that song for Alfred. I love you! Oh please please show the rest.
