O: Tada! I got part two up faster than I expected. So enjoy~!
-----

Now it was Arthur’s turn to sigh, “I highly doubt that because you’d have to be paying attention.”

“Not really.”

“That’s what you said when I told you when you were about to meet Francis. And guess what, by golly you fell for every obvious hit he gave. You were almost molested.”

“It was not my fault that he used his cute baby brother as a ploy!” It was true too. Cute things often had a way with him since he could remember. Most likely he picked it up from Arthur in the first place.

“Mhmm. Here how about this? Instead of hearing me prattle about you could tell me what you know.” Arthur interrupted, “Also while we’re at it, you could even go into those amendments. I personally don’t understand those either.”

Another wonderful thing Alfred saw in the British man; an outstanding mind. One that may not be so open with outside world as much as it should be, but it still held great understanding and conviction. Somewhere it made him wonder if Arthur was in truth very proud of his accomplishment as a new commonwealth of his own.

“I’d suppose.” Alfred nodded, repositioning himself again to look more robust. Having a like mind set to a shy scullery maid was neither glorifying nor helping his embarrassment. “Well the amendments are the will of the people, much as it is the will of the king and parliament in your land--”

Ruffle.

Alfred shifted his hips this time, perceiving his last adjustment inadequate. “--Say, like the first amendment gives the right to free expression about anything and with anyone. Why if we had--”

Ruffle. Ruffle.

No, no, no. That spot wasn’t right either. Maybe if I straighten my back more, whacking his spine into the pointed leaves of the tree he was under receiving a funny look from Arthur. “--a king, his people could speak as freely about him without penalty. Though I highly doubt we’re going to have a kin--”

“What on Earth are you doing Alfred?”

“Being resigned.” Was his seemingly innocent reply.

Arthur snorted, “Being resigned? You’re such a git. Who are you being so resigned with?”

“You, who else?!”

Another snort.

“In all my days of raising you in my home, you have never needed to be passive with me.”

“Well, I thought today was the day!”

Yeah right.

Today was the day Alfred seemed to be falling under the rut just as much as any other day growing up with the Brit. “Well, if you are so inclined. I happen to be trying to be a sophisticated nation who no longer needs his dad.”

The latter was not a lie,for once. Only sadly, not in the right way.
