A Day Out [1/1]

Unbeknownst to their siblings they did this every weekend. Each and every weekend for an hour or two they would meet up and enjoy a day in each other’s company. It wasn’t for any romantic reasons though, simply because they enjoyed each other’s companies. To any who saw them, they may think the two an odd sight, but neither seemed to care.
Today it was shopping. Russia’s birthday was soon so they decided to go gift shopping together. Neither really thought their gifts would be noticed for more than a few moments so they decided to get a joint gift for the large nation.
“What about a new scarf?” Estonia asked Ukraine as they browsed through a clothing store.
Ukraine immediately shook her head. “No, he wouldn’t wear a new one. The one he has was given to him by someone special.”
Estonia nodded and left it at that, after all Ukraine would know her brother best. Despite how ignored she was by her siblings, Estonia knew she watched over them and cared for them as though they were her children. It made Estonia smile as he browsed through the clothes on the rack before him; she was so caring and it was painful to see that she was so under appreciated, so forgotten. They were alike in that way, it was what had first caused them to bond.
His attention was diverted back to Ukraine when she called his name and couldn’t help but chuckle. She was wearing a faux fur jacket and hat, she looked silly.
“Darling it simply cannot go on between us.” She said dramatically as she pretended to swoon. “You are simply too much for me.”
Out right laughing now, Estonia shook his head at her. “But I love you! I gave up my chance at fame for you.” He said as he went over to her and embraced her. “I wanted us to have a life together.”
She shook her head and turned away. “No, I must leave you.” There was a moment of silence and then she burst into giggles and took the hat and coat off. “It’s like one of America’s bad movies.” She said as she carefully hung the items back up.
“Some are worse.” Estonia told her; he’d seen some that just made him shake his head and turn the movie off not even half way through. “Let’s go back to looking for something for Russia.”
Ukraine nodded in agreement. “It’s hard shopping for my brother; he’s been around so long.”
Estonia nodded in agreement when something caught his eye. “What about that?” He asked, picking up a little snow globe with a sun flower field inside.
“That’s perfect!” Ukraine said as she hugged Estonia tightly. “He’ll love it.”
As she pulled away to go and pay for the globe, Estonia found himself blushing lightly. He had greatly enjoyed the feel of her embracing him . . . but he only liked her as a friend right? He wasn’t given the chance to dwell on that as Ukraine called for him to join her.
With a soft sigh he decided to think on it more lately, hopefully he could find a logical explanation for what he had felt.
T-thank you so much for writing this, writer anon! ;____; *you have NO IDEA how happy anon is right now* The whole bad acting was seriously too sweet, I think I've got diabetes Dx The reference to Alfred's bad movies was just awesomely awesome. author!anon is so happy she made OP happy! The bad acting scene was the funnest to write, and the little hug at the end and Estonia's mental freak out over it was for more romantic hints ^_^
