Conqueror of Worlds, prt 7: then America [2/2]

America, sometime during the night, had made it out of quarantine and all the way to white house. No one had known until the next day, at dawn, troops were marching into Canada and taking it by force. No one could believe what they were seeing, some even calling it a joke. Canada knew differently and quickly scrambled to get his own military to back down, lest a blood bath begin. He knew as long as they met no resistance America would not attack.
He also knew America was sick with the madness and that he had to be found and quarantined for the good of his people as well as the rest of the world. He didn't have to look far since America came to him, wearing a modern military outfit but wielding his old rifle. "America..." Canada said and stood as soon as the other was in his room.
America dismissed the men accompanying him. "You surrendered as I thought you would...a matter of marching indeed."
"I did that so you wouldn't kill anybody. You're sick America, we need to get you to a hospital." Canada replied irritably, pride hurt by that comment. It wasn't like he couldn't fight off his brother he just didn't want to, since he knew that the troops would be withdrawn as soon as America was better.
"It's good to see that you use that head on your shoulders." America said and walked over to the other's desk, picking up a random trinket.
"America please, you must get back to a hospital." Canada said calmly studying his brother warily.
"You needn't worry about me little brother, more about what you should call yourself after you become the 51st state." America answered and put the decoration down.
"What...are you mad!? I didn't fight you but I'm certainly not going to become a part of your country!!" Canada shouted back, slamming his fist on the desk. "I didn't win my independence through peaceful means only to have it stolen away by you!"
"Oh Canada..." America laughed and then grabbed his brother by his tie, hauling the man onto the desk then flipping him over, "I love it when you fight back." he said then forced himself onto Canada.
Screams echoed down the hall along with sound of smashing glass but it was over nearly as soon as it began, America opening the door and walking out. A confident smile on his face as he left his sobbing broken brother in his room.
