"Sorry...I had to bring America with me...nobody was available to babysit him and I surely don't trust France to watch him." England apologized as he put the blonde child down on the grass. Russia watched in amusement as America walked around, watching the butterflies fly around.
"No no, it's fine, comrade. I haven't been around children in a while, so it is good for me, da?" England sat in the other garden chair and pulled it close to the table. Both nations had agreed to hold the meeting outside in England's garden. It was a bright sunshiney day...so how could they resist? Russia appreciated the warmth and made sure to enjoy it as much as he could. He had to go home eventually.
"Ah, okay then. Shall we get this meeting started?" England asked. America giggled nearby, petting a wild bunny he had found in a bush. At that point, a shrill whistle sounded from the house, and the blonde nation stood up.
"Oh, that is the tea...I'll be right back." He went into his house for the snacks and tea he planned to serve in the meeting, leaving Russia alone with America. He continued watching the child and smiled, the memories of his own childhood running through his mind. His smile faltered as they grew more darker...
"привет!" America chirped. Russia was startled out of his thoughts. He looked down, seeing the child's rosy cheeks and happy face.
"привет." He greeted back. America grinned and started to try and climb up Russia's leg.
"Ah, child...vat is it that you are doink?" He asked. America stopped and looked back up.
"You're so tall...like a mountain. I like being on top of mountains." He said happily. 'Ah, so cute....' Russia thought as he picked up America and sat him on his lap. The child wiggled a little until he was comfy and leaned back against the man.
"Do you? England told me you come from a snowy place. Is it nice? Can I go over there? I wish it would snow more here. Maybe it'll snow today?" He asked. The child had so many questions...Russia didn't know how to answer them. He hated the cold, and he hated the troubles that were there.
"Ah, I am not sure, but vone of these days I vill let you visit when you are older, then you vill see, da?" America's blue eyes widened.
"I will! I will come visit you! I love snow!" He chirped, turning around and hugged the man. Russia wasn't sure when he started to cry, but he could feel the tears running down his cheeks as he hugged the child back. He wished he could go back to the innocence he once had... America suddenly reached up and started to wipe the Russian's tears away.
"Why are you crying? Are you sad, Mr. Russia? Did I make you cry? I'm sowwy if I did..." America said sadly. Russia blinked back his tears, and smiled, ruffling the child's hair.
"No, you didn't...I just had bad memories...they make me sad." He said softly. America looked rather concerned and clung onto the man.
"Bad memowies? Like the boogeyman and ghosties in your closet? I don't like the ghosties...they're scary..." Russia chuckled.
"Someting like that, America." The little blonde stuck out his lower lip and raised his head as high as he could.
"Don't worry Russia! I will protect you from them! I may be wittle now but I'll grow up big and stwong!" Russia gave the child another bear crushing hug and smiled wider.
"I hope you grow up soon, America..." They sat there in silence for a while, enjoying the warmth of a midsummer day and just basking in each other's company. England was intrigued as he found them off in their own little world, holding a tray full of snacks and tea, and a cup of milk.
"Tea time!" He announced. America tugged on Russia's coat and smiled up at him.
"Tea time! Can you eat with us, Russia? I like you very much. You should stay here and play with me! We can run and chase the bunnies!" America burst out energetically. England clucked his tongue as he placed the tray on the table.
"Tut tut America...you don't need to badger him." America pouted a little but focused on the food in front of him and started eating. England finally sat down and poured the tea.
"Shall we get this meeting started?" He asked, offering the Russian a teacake. Russia accepted and patted America on the head.
"Da."

Possibly too many "..."s but I've noticed that in a lot of stories here. But just as a note most times a period will do the job (or maybe a comma.)
