America was as jumpy as he'd ever been known to be, but more. England knew what the fuss was about though. What most other countries dreaded, what, with the economical slumps here and there, and the get-togethers, and hassle, America was so excited about, and couldn't wait 'till the day was there. He literally looked like he was about to bounce up and out of his chair, and right into an 'unsuspecting' France's lap.

Christmas.

Christmas.

The words made England infuriated, and grit his teeth together. He used to love sharing his Christmas with America-getting him a giant Christmas tree, baking fudge, letting America put the angel on the tree-it was all so great to watch him smile, and laugh, because, young or not, America was always a spirit-lifter, and had a charming smile.

The thing that England loved the most was dressing up as Santa, sneaking downstairs, and putting the presents under the tree which smelled of lovely pines. He loved imagining what America's reaction to this year's newest toy would be. Better - to see it actually happen. It was funny to him when America would wake up early, go to find Santa, and found 'Santa' in his mission to get the presents shoved under the prickly tree. America would always scream "SANTA!" to the top of his lungs, and hug the rather surprised England.

But now, now it wasn't happening. Almost 9 years ago, when America turned 10, the younger blonde began to notice that this Santa thing was a bit 'fishy', and before he could count to 100, just like that, America knew that Santa was a fake, and knew that a guardian or parent dressed up like Santa and delivered the presents. Now, England had no problem with this. He didn't mind that America realized that Santa was just himself, England. What really bothered him was that he had no one to blame.

But himself.

Yep, that year, England asked America if he was so sure Santa existed. That's when America actually thought about it logically, and came to the conclusion that 'A fat bastard like Santa could never fit down over 3 trillion chimneys in a night.'. So England had to blame himself for that part of the misery.

He showed nothing but anger, and depression on his face. 'If it weren't for the fact that I was invited to America's stupid party... the man furrowed his brows, and glared at all of the people shoving themselves under a mistletoe with another country (ahem, France pulling everyone), and forcing them to kiss each other. ...Then I wouldn't have to be remembering any of this crap.'

Despite himself, England couldn't help but feel somewhat delighted by his surroundings. America had outdone himself this year. There were beautiful lights everywhere, I huge Christmas tree with cute decorations hanging from the limbs of it, and a giant setup of all sorts of random foods and drinks. England also found it rather amusing that, even though he wasn't invited, Russia came, and got a present, as did everyone else who was invited. Sealand, Korea, and Latvia weren't invited either, for reasons such as Russia and France's presence, England guessed, after looking at the chart of people who were going to come. Added to all of those was a random disco ball placed in the middle of the ceiling, and a bunch of mistletoe. The only thing missing was America himself.

But just when England thought that he was going to walk up to Canada and have a smart conversation -which would have failed anyways- America twirled around the corner that England had been lingering around, and swept him up from his feet. England squeaked, and curled up in a ball unwillingly in the other person's arms, almost in an action of self-defense, but was soon lightly put onto the floor. England was almost dizzy from confusion, and fear, but when he looked up, two blue eyes were gleaming at him brightly, and America stood there, saying 'Hello' to him without even speaking. He looked like some sort of God in England's eyes. America made a rather rude remark.

"Hey daddy, are you pouting?" he snorted at England, who glared at him back, as if to say "I'll cut you". He hesitated to answer, then signed, and looked down, doing what America had guessed.

"It's your fault. You were cuter when you were young," he mumbled. America giggled, and wrapped an arm around the older, and shorter male.

"England." said America in a soft voice.

"What?" it was all he could say to prevent from crying.

"I see Santa." England looked up at hearing those words. His chin was half forced up by America, but as soon as hit head was as far diagonalized up as he could, he felt elated, and silly that he did.

England saw nothing, but felt a breath over his lips, and then felt them pressed upon another set of lips. When the soft kiss ended, America looked up above his head at the little green mistletoe with blue berries on it, and chuckled, whispering "Merry Christmas," in England's ear.
