The part where we run away (1b/?) anonymous September 14 2012, 16:30:32 UTC
(Dangit, I forgot to re-title the first part! Excuse my fail... OTL)
"Hey, Kiku, what're the video files already on here?"
Kiku immediately tensed, snatching the camera back and flipping through the files himself, grumbling under his breath as he went, "Augh, I must have grabbed the wrong memory card... I hope I already uploaded these to my computer..." After a few minutes of fumbling, probably deleting the leftover files, he returned the camera to Alfred. "Sorry, um... Those were from... A party a few weeks ago. I thought I'd cleared out the memory card since, but I guess I hadn't."
Alfred accepted it back, shrugging and lifting the device to his eye, Kiku noticed the blinking red 'record' button and blushed again. He wasn't exactly expecting to be on camera during this adventure...
"C'mon, Kiku! Smile for the ghosts!"
"Alfred-san, there are no ghosts here..."
Alfred wasn't listening anymore. Somewhere along the lines, his excitement and lust for adventure had overpowered his fear, and he was pressing on toward the doorway already. Kiku followed behind him, taking it upon himself to light the way, as Alfred had all but abandoned his flashlight for the camera.
They entered into the next room, a large dining room complete with an extraordinarily long dinner table and a few empty China cabinets. Everything was coated in a thin layer of dust, but aside from that, this room looked as unimposing as the last. Though Kiku suggested they take a look through the room, Alfred said it was 'too boring' and moved on to the next room. There was actually a door here, leading into a kitchen area. It was a rather nice kitchen, large with plenty of counter space. Kiku couldn't help but think about how nice it would be to make some sushi here. He was quickly broken out of his thoughts, though.
“So, Kiku, just wanted to be sure about this, but, uh… The thumbnail on the first of those videos you deleted…”
Kiku tensed up, not turning to face who was speaking to him, “Just wanted to check in on this, but… That wasn’t Francis, right?”
“…O-of course not!”
“And he wasn’t… With Arthur, was he?”
“N-no, no!”
“…Okay. Just making sure.” Alfred walked in front of Kiku, going over to examine the old fridge, which obviously hadn’t been used in a long while.
Opening the fridge, he pointed the camera straight into it, “Reveal yourselves, spirits! It’s not like we’re gonna hurt you! …Obviously. I mean, you’re kinda already dead, but… You know what I mean!”
Kiku politely refrained from rolling his eyes. “Alfred-san, I do not think spirits would reveal themselves just because you ask them to… And what makes you think they are in the refrigerator, anyways?”
Alfred’s head popped up over the open door, camera following. “Because if I were a ghost, I’d totally want to live in my fridge!”
…Kiku refrained from asking about that.
“Maybe you should… Try asking them some questions?”
Alfred’s face scrunched itself up in thought before he disappeared behind the door again, “Okay, uh… So, ghosts-dudes… What was your favorite color?”
“A-Alfred-san, I do not think those are the type of questions you should be asking…”
There was a pause as Alfred popped his head up again and he looked at Kiku for a moment, then he immediately disappeared behind the door again. “Okay, uh… Spirits? Do you know why Kiku had videos of Arthur and Francis making out on his camera?”
“N-NOT THOSE KINDS OF QUESTIONS, EITHER!”
