America woke up in a cold bed, confused at first but sighing as the memories of last night woke in his mind. He absolutely hated fighting with Ivan but the man was just so stubborn- although Alfred really wasn’t any better. Crawling out of bed, he pulled on a shirt over his boxers and went to find Ivan, hoping that he was still in the house. It was unnaturally quiet in the house without the large man’s sleepy shuffle and heavy footfalls echoing throughout the halls. Alfred checked all of the guest rooms on the third floor, but Ivan wasn’t in any of them. Must have gotten a hotel then, Alfred thought as he trudged down the stairs in search of coffee.

It was an unwelcome change in the American’s day, having to wake up alone instead of curled together arms and legs tanged in an unrecognizable heap, all the blankets on Alfred’s side because he managed to grab all of them during the night. He missed Ivan in the mornings, all grabby and snuggly because he was slow to wake up while Alfred just wanted a cup of creamer with some coffee in it. This house was too big to live alone in.

He sulked into the kitchen which had been recently remodeled but still held its colonial charm, and encountered the joyous sounds of the coffee maker running at full power. Went to the refrigerator, got the creamer, retrieved the awesome American flag mug from the dishwasher and waited patiently for the coffee to finish brewing to a full cup. It was only after he had poured himself a cup, sat down at the kitchen table and taken a few sips of the steaming heaven, that he remembered he didn’t have an automatic coffee maker. Someone must have started it for him.

“Hey Ivan?” Alfred called, but got no response. “Babe?” He walked into the living room and found his Russian sleeping on the couch, snuggled under the old afghan that one of his past First Ladies had made him. Alfred set his mug on the worn, ringed coffee table in front of the couch and sat down next to the other. “Thanks for makin’ me coffee.” Ivan didn’t stir, so Alfred squeezed himself on the remaining half inch of couch space left and Ivan’s arm quickly snaked around his waist, holding him close and keeping him on the couch.

“We done fightin’ Russki?” Ivan mumbled something in response against the back of Alfred’s neck, and curled the smaller man closer. Alfred relaxed back into the embrace, sure that the argument from last night had been dropped. Now he had to wait patiently for Ivan to wake up, something that didn’t happen quickly.

“No squirming Alfred, I’m trying to sleep.”

“But I’m bored…” Alfred drew out the word in a long whine, “And, we have to leave for the meeting in…” Alfred tried to twist around in Ivan’s arms to see the clock, but was held fast by the sleepy man.

“Dorogoi, when have you ever cared about being on time for a World Meeting? Punctuality is not your strong suit.”

“No big words until I’ve had at least two cups of coffee.”

“Punctuality is not”- a big word, Ivan finished in his head after Alfred interrupted him.

“Anyway,” Alfred stressed, covering up Ivan’s argument, “You must be a good influence on me then. Now get up.” He kissed Ivan’s forehead and whispered in his ear, “And maybe we can go take a shower first, okay?”

It was a blatant taunt, but it worked. Russia’s grip on America loosened, allowing Alfred to slip away and make Ivan chase him up the stairs.

(Warning! This part is very NSFW!)

Running up the stairs, Alfred ran into his room then into the master bathroom and locked the door. He knew that Ivan could easily pick the lock or break the door, but Alfred just wanted to annoy him, just a little bit. As he turned on the shower as hot as it could get he heard Ivan trying to open the door, and chuckle darkly as he realized it was locked.

Alfred stripped and jumped into the stream of scalding water, and shut the sliding opaque glass door, shampooing his hair as he waited for Ivan. An annoyed grunt was quickly followed by a screech of twisting metal as Russia simply mangled the door handle. Oh well, he’d fix it after the meeting.

Russia wrenched the shower door open and glared at Alfred, who just stood there, naked with his hair covered in shampoo, water running down him, and an infuriatingly huge grin on his face. “You just going to stand there or…”

“It is not in your best interest to tease me in the mornings dorogoi, especially after I have spent the night on an uncomfortable couch.”

“Oh, but it’s so fun.” Alfred flashed him that lusty half grin of his and Ivan was incredibly glad that he was only in a nightshirt and boxers, allowing Ivan to undress in under a second, climbing into the shower and pushing the wet, soapy man against the wall. Ivan grabbed his half-hard cock almost painfully and Alfred moaned, melting into the wall. “Let me at least, ah, get the soap o-out of my hair first.”

A whimper still escaped his lips when Ivan released him and Alfred got the shampoo out of his hair like it was on fire. When Ivan deemed his hair shampoo-free he grabbed Alfred around the waist and pulled him into a very needy kiss. For them, this was a way of working out their problems; dominance was fought for with tongue and teeth or a roll of the hips. This time when Alfred was pressed against the warm, slick shower tile he wrapped his legs around Ivan’s waist, grinding his ass against Ivan’s cock. The steam in the room was building now, obscuring the pair’s faces.

Ivan pushed a water-slicked finger into Alfred’s entrance, causing Alfred to moan in pain and pleasure. He was relaxed though, comfortable with Ivan, even in this position. The kiss between them broke and Ivan trailed kisses down Alfred’s jaw as he added a second and third finger. Alfred pushed his head against the tile, arching into every touch he could pull from the larger man and aching for more.

“Ready… more!” Alfred gasped, unable to force full sentences out of his mouth.

Ivan chuckled, “Teasing is not fun on the other side is it?”

Alfred narrowed his eyes at Ivan, too breathless to actually talk. He reached up, licked and kissed Ivan’s nose, knowing that it drove him crazy. With this new bit of taunting, Ivan figured that Alfred was ready, positioned himself at Alfred’s entrance and pushed in slowly but fluidly.

Alfred moaned, deep and loud and Ivan licked along Alfred’s throat, loving feeling the vibrations. He moved in Alfred, the pace of their movements speeding up as the heat from their bodies became hotter than the scalding water surrounding them. It was timeless, and they lost themselves in the movement and friction of their bodies. Alfred didn’t notice when his fingers twined in Ivan’s hair, pushing his pliant mouth tighter against Alfred’s collarbone or when he started to scream, just as Ivan failed to recognize his hand gently stroking the small of Alfred’s back in sharp contrast to his hard, deep thrusts. Neither of them could see the other, the steam from the sower becoming think hand heavy, the saturated air filled their lungs and only served to dive them faster.

Alfred cried out, energy quickly leaving his body falling lax. Ivan had to take his hand away from Alfred’s back to his thighs in an effort to support the dead weight while still speeding up his thrusts, becoming more erratic and desperate as he felt his climax approaching.

After Ivan’s finish, the both stood there, leaning against each other, panting desperately, their bodies imbued with a raging heat. Unable to stand, they allowed themselves to slide down the side of the shower and rest on the floor of the tub, limbs tangled together. The shower rinsed their seed off and Alfred languidly insisted that they wash up a little before going to relax. They kissed each other softly, nuzzling their necks and still trying to find each other in the steamy foggy environment.

The post-coital peace didn’t last long however.

Ivan’s new Rolls-Royce was sitting in a car shop in downtown D.C., and he hadn’t had the time to find a rental, so he and Alfred decided to go to the meeting together in Alfred’s Ford, which was a huge risk for them. Not too risky though, America always had a lie up his sleeve about where he was going. They knew that for the sake of the world’s sanity, they had to keep their relationship a secret- the trade deals passed years ago still stirred up suspicion sometimes. They were fairly sure that Ukraine and Canada would be supportive of them. England could never know because he would try and kill someone, although Ivan thought that France would intervene on their behalf, or his own, even if he wasn’t supportive of their relationship. Neither of them even mentioned Belarus.

But neither of them would be going to the meeting if they couldn’t manage to get to actually get in the car. “My car, my country, I drive.” Alfred argued, both of them standing around the kitchen table, hands hovering above the keys.

“My life is far more important than your silly pride, da? And we will surely get into an accident with your lax attention and poor driving skills.”

“You know I’ve only gotten into one accident recently and that was Italy’s fault! I’m a good driver!”

“Alfred.”

“Vanya.”

“Using the diminutive does not make you sound any more threatening.”

“Because I’m not trying to sound threatening! Look, let’s just call you up a cab; it’ll be easier that way.”

“Nyet, I do not want to ride with a smelly stranger who gets lost in a city he has lived in for over a decade. Let me drive.”

They glared each other down, the tension mounting like a tidal wave, until America released his end of the tension by sighing and saying, “Alright, fine. How about I drive and if you notice that I break any traffic law, I’ll pull over and let you drive. That work for you?”

Ivan hesitated before nodding, “Da, that will work.”

“We’re getting better at this aren’t we?” Alfred laughed, grabbing the keys off the table and spinning them around his finger as he walked out the door, Ivan following close behind.

“The magical stick didn’t even need to come out!”

“If I didn’t already know what you were talking about that would’ve sounded really wrong.”

“That is only your perverted mind, da?”

“Oh, but you love it.”

They had to pull over fifteen minutes into a two-hour drive. Alfred had a lead-foot.

The duo walked into one of the stoic faux-Grecian building separately, the attention diverted from the fact that they arrived together by Greece somehow falling asleep on the top of the nearly two-story marble façade, and the debate over who had to go get him down. Most of Asia and all of Europe was just standing there, looking at the sleeping man. Japan had already tried to wake him by yelling and texting him, and most were surprised that Turkey’s maniacal laughter hadn’t woken him up already.

(Egypt eventually took off his jacket and twirled it into a sling and used it to climb up one of the marble columns. He shook Greece awake, slid down the column and walked in the building, all without saying a word.)

Greece safe, all the other nations filed into the building. Seeing America, England yelled, “Git, you better explain yourself!”

England yelling at him wasn’t unusual but with the stress of two fights with Ivan still on his mind and the worry about their relationship upfront and present, America jumped about five feet into the air. “What did I do this time?” He yelled.

“You gave Peter those firecrackers! I know it was you!” Alfred relaxed, it was just about Peter annoying England again, not him and Russia. “Are you alright boy? You seem jumpy today.”

“I guess I just had a lot much coffee this morning! A hero needs his energy though!” Alfred flashed England a ‘hero’ smile, then put on a pout, “And why is it always my fault when Peter gets his hands on firecrackers? Why not Hong Kong?”

England smacked him on the back of the head, “I know it’s you because Karou is a good boy, unlike you, you rabble rouser.”

“I’m going to have to sic Francis on you again aren’t I?” Alfred laughed, as they walked into the meeting room.

The meeting room was terribly crowded and noisy with fights breaking out everywhere because only Germany, Japan and Switzerland even tried to keep the peace- and Japan wasn’t all that good at it really. So the result was a microscopic section of the globe in World War III. France said something in French and England promptly went to smack him, starting another fight that no one wanted to intervene in. South Korea and Estonia were playing StarCraft on their laptops in a corner, drawing many of the Asian nations and a couple of European ones into a crowd near them- loud Korean ripped through the air once Yong Soo won. Romano was hitting both Gilbert and Antonio on the head with a chair, and Austria was trying to curtail Hungary’s stalking of Finland and Sweden.

Russia was going about his normal business of terrorizing the Baltics with Belarus at his elbow, America noticed with a frown. He thought he had talked Russia out of doing that anymore, especially after Finland nearly shot America’s head off by accident while he and Russia were on a date. They were lucky that Finland didn’t recognize Alfred at the time.

It took two clips and a gaping hole in the ceiling from Switzerland to get everyone to calm down and sit so that they could start the meeting. Peace reigned throughout the first set of speakers and Germany and Switzerland were just beginning to relax when Russia got up to speak.

“Up to terrorize everyone again? I thought you’d had enough of that when I kicked the commie out of you decades ago.” Alfred yelled, loving how Ivan’s smile became strained and the paper in his hands crinkled. It was an act between them, one that they had been keeping up for months and the banter no only made for good cover, but fun as well. They got all of their aggression out now and played it off as acting later.

“Ah, throwing around the T word again are we Amerika? Trying to relive the glory days when you had Western Europe wrapped around your fat little finger?”

Alfred slammed his hands on the table and the bickering between the two became even more intense, which was a signal to mast nations that they could break off and do what they wished.

This time not even Germany and Switzerland could calm the nations back down, and Switzerland eventually grabbed his sister away from Hungary and left while Germany let himself be drug off to lunch by Italy. From there, everyone else filed out of the room, Eduard and Yong Soo still playing StarCraft while walking through the crowd.

Once the room was nearly empty, England tried to leave, but France stopped him by grabbing his sleeve. “Go molest someone else frog!” England snapped at him, still cross from the unproductive meeting and Peter waking him up by lighting firecrackers under his bed.

“Ta geule brebis galeuse, this is important! I think there’s something up with Amérique et Russie.”

I'm not sure if you're finished posting -- or if my comment will even go through! -- because Livejournal is going insane. But I just wanted to say that this looks amazing. I don't care for this pairing at all, but your characterization here is definitely convincing me fast. :Db

I'm also loving the way both guys are playing on people's images of them to keep their relationship (and some of the personalties, frankly) this secret. It's pretty impressive, really. I wonder, though: how reliable a narrator is America, really? I mean, would England really go berserk if he learned about their relationship? And was it really Hong Kong who gave those fireworks to Sealand? LOL

Oh yeah, you really give a good impression of these guys knowing how to read each other really well and having a reasonably mature relationship -- without having a perfect, fairytale relationship in which they never fight. Way to balance their "human" age with their "nation" age, Author!Anon. <3

... So, like, what's up with all the good Russia/America suddenly? *pokes you suspiciously*

Is that why everything was so glitchy when I posted yesterday? I thought I had just messed up royally... this is hte first time I've posted on here actually, but I'm glad you think I'm as good as some of the other writers on here! .///. Makes me blush.

(I'm not sure if it was Hong Kong, it could be any number of other old colonies of England's...)

I was worried about overdoing it with the arguments, glad that it worked out how I wanted it!

Thank you for commenting!

oh wow. The shower scene was incredibly hott....
But lol their bickering over the car ride was pretty amusing, and so was their faux-fighting at the conference. I wonder how many other nations also fake-hate each other haha
