I'm so sorry for the utterly late update. Life just got me. I'm sorry, OP! D:
-------USUK------------
The bizarre situation Arthur was currently in started when he opened his bookshop one Tuesday. He wasn't expecting any customers at 9 o'clock that day. It was during office hours, and he was sorting some of the disarrange books on the Travel section. He scowled at the messy placements of his beloved bounds. "Messy gits who don't know how to return things they've picked in the proper place," he grumbled to himself.
Arthur should have known that when he heard the doorbell chime, his world was about to turn upside down. Sadly, the universe didn't warn him, so he just walked towards the door to greet his potential client, only for his breath to be physically knocked out of him. Life-changing events should come with a warning. The universe should had sent him a notification beforehand that on this particular Tuesday, the fates had planned the greatest twist for his boring, mundane life as a lonely bookshop owner.
And that life-changing event came in a form of that lovely-annoying-adorable-American git, Alfred F. Jones. Arthur wasn't really aware of the plans that were set for him, so he just stood awkwardly beside the shelf, staring, ogling at the obviously misplaced newcomer. He was partially hidden by the furniture, but it provided him ample view of the then mysterious man who was glancing along the books near the glass window.
Before Arthur could breath again, the man turned away and walked out of the store. Something inside Arthur's chest ached. 'He didn't even stay for a minute,' his mind supplied. That got him to snap back to reality. He wouldn't be distracted by some unknown strangers waltzing inside his ship and not even saying anything to the owner or even properly browsing his precious books. He suddenly felt annoyed (and rejected, but he wouldn't dwell on those thoughts).
Little did he know that the simple entrance of the out-of-place foreigner would be a recurrent visitor in his shop and in his life. And he couldn't stop himself from getting just a little bit anxious and excited whenever he heard the chimes ring, or the door knob turned. For every blonde hair that passed by his glass window, for every brown jacket that caught his peripheral vision, he felt his chest tighten just a tad bit and his palms a little bit sweaty, that his pen slid off his grip whenever he wrote his sales on his record book.
This was getting bloody ridiculous.
'Get a grip on yourself, Arthur!' he mentally berated himself. 'Just because that stupid wanker kept appearing on your shop and then gone before you can even say "Hello" doesn't warrant for this kind of behavior!' The man in question was visiting his humble abode for a couple of days already, and without missing a day. And yet it seemed all he could do was browse on the stacks of books near the entrance, or at the Travel section, which was also near the glass window. After the breezy browsing, he always left before Arthur could even greet him (and that always frustrated the owner to no end).
And yet, that faithful day when he was dozing off (and his guard was down), he heard the chimes of his door ringing, the pressing matter on his mind was currently washed away temporarily, turning to greet his customer (in autopilot). He did not expect the very intriguing man to walk inside his bookshop and swagger near his counter (at last!) and Arthur finally, finally saw the anterior side of his mystery blonde.
And then his pleasantries were suspended in his throat as he took in the sight before him.

Ugh, forgive me for the very short update! ;o; I'm sorry! I'm not dropping the story!

This part seems like it comes before the other one...*confused*
Also, I can't tell which one is the crazy one. I mean, Arthur fainted! But Alfred knew his last and kept coming in day after day. Curious to see more..

This part is a reminisce, or a flashback of Arthur's thoughts, because he drifted away when Alfred was shaking his hand in part 2. LOL sorry for not making it clear! orz
