"But the night also provided a few surprises." Now she looked a bit mischievous. "Singer Allison Smith announced that she and her long time friend, Herman Johnson, are more than just friends and actress Joanna Hansson reported that she is pregnant with the child of her husband of two years, Michael Hansson." The woman made a small pause and now, Arthur thought, she looked downright devious.
"But nothing beats the news we have regarding actor Alfred F Jones. As always, he made a huge donation for the sake of the children but half-way through the night the young star was nowhere to be seen." As she spoke Arthur felt his stomach start to churn. He hoped, he wished, he prayed that what had happened between him and Alfred was still a secret. Wasn't it bad enough that he'd flash back to the previous night each time something accidentally pressed against the finger shaped bruises on his hips? He took a sip of tea to calm his nerves.
"He was, however, caught on camera by one of the photographers at the function. In a secluded area quite far away from the rest of the celebrities and businessmen, Alfred F Jones was caught on camera as he kissed and embraced another man!" the woman exclaimed with a near manic expression on her face. Arthur nearly spit his tea out and with shaking hands he put it back on the table, fearing he'd drop it. Was there any chance that Alfred F Jones had kissed someone else?
Any hopes of it being someone else were crushed when a picture was shown on the telly. You could clearly recognize Alfred F Jones in the picture, but the man he was wrapped around and kissing was mostly obscured by a big potted plant. Not that it stopped Arthur from recognizing his own blond mop of hair and his own suit. He groaned and slapped a hand over his face. This couldn't get any worse.
"But, ladies and gentlemen, this is not the biggest surprise, because that is the photo taken the next morning. The man, mostly hidden in this picture, left Alfred F Jones' hotel room with a slight limp!" A new photo was shown and this time Arthur could clearly see his own face in the picture. He felt his stomach turn and he felt close to throwing up.
The shit had officially hit the fan.

"Cross-referencing with the list over the guests has confirmed this man's identity as Arthur Kirkland, a twenty-three year-old businessman working for C.B.V. Corporations." Alfred stared at the TV in shock. This wasn't happening. It couldn't be happening. But it was.
Though Alfred's memories were still slightly fuzzy, he could clearly recognise the handsome man with the huge eyebrows in the picture. His guts twisted in realization that things could get really bad and completely out of hand.
As the news anchor started talking about the various possibilities, Alfred simply grabbed the remote and turned the TV off. He then dropped it back on the couch table and hid his face in his hands.
Elizabeta and Kiku were like two stone statues, silent and grave, completely unmoving in their places next to him on the couch. They had been just as surprised as Alfred when the news came on, leaving Arthur to realise that no one out of all the people working around him had been forewarned that these pictures existed. Which mean that they must have been kept secret the entire time before a deal was struck. Alfred was willing to bet that the photographers had earned quite a bit of money for selling these pictures.
He didn't react when Elizabeta and Kiku suddenly stood up and walked away, he understood that they were most likely off to discuss the matter and find out who took the pictures in the first place.

He dragged a hand over his face. In one evening he could easily have killed his entire career and without the incredibly high earnings of a world famous actor, there was simply no way Alfred could continue to support different help organizations nor would he be able to go back to the developing countries to continue his project of helping out with building hospitals and houses.
He had always dreamed to be a hero and he had finally found a way to truly do good in the world and now...
Chances were that he'd just destroyed everything he'd worked for simply because he was bored at a social event and decided to get plastered in the presence of a cute guy whose company he enjoyed.
Fuck.

Arthur felt numb as he picked up his ringing mobile phone. He stared at the telly that had pretty much just ruined his life.
"Arthur Kirkland speaking." His voice didn't betray his shock and horror, instead it remained monotone.
"Arthur, mon cher, why have you not told me about your love affair?" Him. Of course him. Why not him?
"Bonnefoy."
"It all makes perfect sense now! Of course you would not respond to my advances when you're already seeing someone, you were merely being faithful!" And so Francis continued to babble on and on, as was the norm. Arthur had to admit that under the circumstances it was almost comforting, even if the bloody frog assumed that the only reason Arthur hadn't fallen head over heels for his sexual harassment was because Arthur had a lover already.
Bonnefoy seemed to believe himself God's gift to the world and really, Arthur found that insulting. He wasn't dating anyone and he still didn't want that bloody frog.
But he kept his tongue; nothing good could come from talking about this.
