As Arthur ran over, still surrounded by that beautiful golden globe-sphere-thing Alfred came to some kind of conclusion. His heroic instincts had decided that, at least during this adventure, Arthur was his badass damsel in distress. So of course Alfred worried and went a bit panicky when Arthur nearly died without him being able to help.
Nodding to himself, pleased with himself for figuring it out, he got his gun out again; he was ready to get back at these Russian bastards.
He glanced at Arthur and frowned, he looked tired; really, really tired. That wasn’t good, not at all. He wondered if the triangle had anything to do with it, because he had not looked that tired before.
He decided not to say anything about it; instead he kept firing, glad that he had a lot of extra bullets hidden in the many pockets of his pants. Arthur soon joined him in firing, using the rifle he’d taken from one of the dead mercenaries. Alfred kinda wished he had done the same, but he’d never used a rifle so he had no idea how it worked and he didn’t wanna risk anything.
It was pretty obvious who were the better shooters, because this group of mercenaries, smaller than the one that had originally been in the room, went down pretty fast. The last one had managed to talk into a high powered cell phone of some kind before Alfred took him out, but he hadn’t been able to hear what had been said. He had, however, destroyed the cell phone as well.
When they were finally done, Arthur collected more ammo for his “borrowed” rifle while Alfred kept watch. They had been taken by surprise once and he wouldn’t let it happen again.
“We don’t have time to bother with the bandage for now, it will have to wait until we get somewhere safe,” Arthur said suddenly, effectively catching Alfred’s attention.
He looked at the blood still seeping through the bandage with a frown, but nodded. They didn’t have the time now. If more mercenaries showed up, they could be in real trouble, and considering how tired Arthur seemed to be…
“Let’s get climbing back up then,” he said with a nod. Arthur nodded and slung the rifle back over his shoulders, which gave Alfred an idea.
“Wait, I have an idea,” he said, which made Arthur raise an eyebrow in interest, probably. “How about I climb the ropes with you on my back, and you can have one of your handguns ready to shoot at anyone who might show up?” he continued. It was a good idea, and it would probably let Arthur rest a little bit. If they needed to run or something like that, then it wouldn’t do to have Arthur tire himself here. Besides, climbing a rope with your damsel on your back was heroic, and Alfred couldn’t say no to that.
“Uh, I suppose that makes some sense…” Arthur said and trailed off. Alfred grinned and got down on one knee so that Arthur could climb onto his back easily.
With Arthur on his back and his slim powerful and mostly bare legs wrapped tightly around his waist, one of his arms around his neck and holding on to his shoulder, Alfred stood up and started walking towards the rope still hanging there, waiting for him.

I'm in love with this story, anon. It's brilliant. I love Alfred and Arthur's interaction and I'm really intrigued as to what's up with Arthur. Can't wait for more. <3

This was a tense chapter O__O
But I love their interaction, still :) They're pretty cool beans in the face of danger, those two...
