Unconditional - Part 10b/? anonymous April 6 2011, 19:14:06 UTC
“Please, Matt.” America is hurt. And Canada's heart aches because of it. He wants to comfort America, tell him that he isn't truly scared, tell him everything that has Canada wishing for the simplicity of a blanket by the fire and a master who doesn't make his brain hurt.

His mouth opens, and for a moment, he is terrified.

But the words come out as nothing more than breaths and barking, and though it causes America's eyes to darken, Canada is glad. For all that has changed around him, he is still the same.

His chest loosens and his breathing calms as Canada crawls forward and presses his forehead into America's shoulder. He is still the same and he will keep his master happy, just as he always has. He will keep America happy.

“Thank you,” America whispers, barely loud enough for Canada to hear. And then he is smiling, his hands on Canada's shoulders. “We've still got a plane to catch.”

Canada yips, a soft, happy noise. America is smiling, and Canada will do everything he can to keep it that way.

And... they're still in the hotel room. I do plan on getting them to the airport, and then England eventually. I really do.

Yay an updaye! ^^ This has made my day. I really love the flashback parts and how it shows how Canada got the way he is. It's going to be interesting how he handles the flight.

God, I love this fill.

"Canada allowed himself to relax into Russia's warmth. He was done fighting."
Those last two sentences are so powerful... great job showing Canada's transformation via flashbacks, author!anon.

I also love the interaction between the brothers here. I just feel bad for both of them.

p.s. Good luck with your finals!
