“Dinner’s ready,” Ludwig said softly, looking more at Roderich than Arthur. Elizabeta nodded and left the room, presumably to start distributing food. Ludwig’s eyes lingered on Arthur before he followed her quickly, with Gilbert step-thumping after them. Arthur looked down at Roderich and smiled, the brunet smiling slightly back after a second.
Silently, Arthur helped Roderich move his hands back to his lap, covering the keys of the piano. He wheeled Roderich into the hall then into the kitchen, stopping at the brunet’s usual seat.
Arthur sat in his own seat, avoiding looking at Ludwig. Gilbert banged his cane on the ground and shouted something at Elizabeta with a grin, who responded by stomping over and smacking him with a wooden spoon. Roderich looked at Arthur.
“That first piece was not only my sadness,” Roderich said. Arthur glanced at him. “You are sad as well.”
Arthur swallowed slightly. “I have reason to be, I suppose.”
Roderich stared at him for a few seconds before nodding, looking over at Elizabeta as she sat beside him. Arthur glanced at Ludwig quickly, seeing the other blond staring back at him.

so...it's been a while. good news is that I planned out the next 20 or so chapters, so i know how the story's going to end =)
