1) Romano gives him a present. What kind of present? It's up to your imagination :]
2) Romano tries to organize a party while Spain is out. Except NOTHING goes according to plan. But it all ends happily, with Spain happy that Romano cared enough to try. Fluff is a must!
I decided to take the second option, so I hope anon likes it.
Chaos is just another proof of love
Against what everybody could think, a nation's birthday day wasn't a nice or funny event, at least for the nation. It usually involved meetings with a lot of people you didn't care much about, specially not on that day and that early, parades, formal parties and all other formal events that were boring for all the parts involved but still happened year after year.
Spain's birthday wasn't different. He started the day earlier than usual looking for his suit and a proper shirt to wear to the breakfast with the boss. Later he had a meeting with some other important people, a parade, another meeting and a string of events, people to meet and places to be that were to tiring to even remember. The best thing one could do that day was to be taken along and trying to smile.
Spain sighed when he finished dressing and glancing at Romano, still sleeping, he couldn't help but think that he would gladly spend the whole day with the Italian boy in bed. Spain kissed Romano softly on the lips before leaving the house to start the day.
Romano has been awake when Spain kissed him goodbye before leaving but he feigned sleep to avoid talking with him. Romano had a plan. A plan that would sweep Spain off of his feet and make him remember how lucky he was to have Romano. Some traitorous voice in his head kept telling him that the real reason was that he wanted to make Spain happy. It sucked when your inner voice was wrong.
It was still too early to wake up and start preparing for Spain's birthday. He was planning on a mini party with just the two of them. Not like he wanted a romantic evening with Spain, it's just that there was no way in hell that he was going to cook for the likes of Prussia. Or even worse, France.
Sleep was claiming him again and Romano closed his eyes, allowing himself to rest for a few more hours.
It's Spain's birthday!
