There was a young Spaniard from the conquistador days He was a jolly young fellow, at least that's what they say He led his troops into battle and many did they slay They killed them all and bathed in blood till no one stood in his way
There was a French madman who wore a ribbon round his neck Before the guillotine was invented he was fond of using an axe You'd know that you're done for when you saw his silhouette When he was fully drenched in blood, royalty was dead
There was a Prussian general whose hair was white as snow How old was he when he waged war, you'd never know When he was done with battle, he lay the corpses of his enemies in a row What he did with them afterwards will make your blood run cold
But oh! My tale gets stranger! And very soon you'll see A long time ago on the brink of death I caught sight of all three The Spaniard, the Frenchman and the Prussian smiled and said to me "Drink some blood and once you do, you'll gain immortality."
I politely refused their offer though it seemed like they hated to fail But as my life slowly slipped away it became obvious they would prevail So I drank and drank and drank and lo! I lived to tell the tale To start anew I bought a ship and to the Orient I set sail
When I set foot in China, it was an awful sight The soil was thoroughly soaked with blood and everyday warlords would fight With suitcases filled with opium, I met a Chinese gentleman one night He hopped about! His skin was rotting! He gave me such a fright!
But child, you see, when they found me on the shore, they couldn't see through my disguise! Come closer child, come here, that's right, look into my eyes I was once an empire but oh, the colonies I had to sacrifice Now you, my love - I'm sorry, child - you'll meet your demise!
France's ribbon around his neck is from how some relatives of those executed by the guillotine would wear ribbons around their necks. China's a jiangshi. Uh and no prizes for guessing who's the narrator, it's England. Hope you liked it.

Fuck, I realised I had anachronistic imagery - the warlords only appeared in the Qing dynasty! So much for all the Immanuel Hsu last year arghhh.

I loved the imagery here, and in a poetic style, everything was made that much more vivid. Using China was an excellent choice, I must say. Thanks for sharing!
