Dear America,
I wish you all the happiness in the world in your new union, The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Norther Ireland and British America. I am sure Canada is very jealous, but you gave Britain a very hard line - either marriage or you leave him while he can’t stop you. I am sure he was planning on proposing eventually, and by forcing the issue, now you know his true feelings, and there’s nothing better than that.
This is probably for the best. Your original plans for separate nationhood would likely have fallen through, and even if you succeeded, the path to sovereignty is not an easy one. Both you an Canada are so young and there are many powerful nations out there. You’re not so young that I should worry about your survival, but still, I think about the prospect now and then and fear for you two.
I suppose I have strayed from the point of this letter. I write to you to say that this is my final letter to you, as now that you have joined the United Kingdom, you have become my mortal enemy.
FRANCE! :D Oh, thank you author!anon, that was hilarious. I was absolutely giddy when I saw someone had responded to my prompt. Pfft, France acknoweleding just how ridiculously lucky the whole revolution had to be to pull it off. D'aww, France manages to pull off the worried big brother even when he declares him his enemy. Now the only I'm wondering about is what America thought when he read it.

I really liked this fill, author anon. I would like to comment on something, though:
The United Kingdom of Great Britain,Northern Ireland and British America
Assuming the events in this story take place in the late 18th century, the name of the nation would be The United Kingdom of Great Britain, as Ireland only joined the UK in 1800. Only in 1927, after its secession from the Irish Free State, Northern Ireland re-joined the UK and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland came to be.
A small detail in a great fill, I know, but I thought it was something that needed to be said.

as much as I love this idea, it kinda makes me sad that there might be a parallel universe out there without all that America has to offer ;A; it may make me sound conceited about my country, but we really brought more to the table than people give us credit for.
