Vash VS The Yandere States Of America anonymous September 6 2010, 04:01:31 UTC
When I first started this chapter, China was in it, but then somehow, Switzerland took over. I thought he was supposed to be neutral? Guess not. I ended up cutting out the first part of this chapter, then going in a completely new direction.

Vash Zwingli VS The Yandere States Of America
It all started with an innocent invitation to a shooting range; right after a shouting match between China and America at his house (because nations just had to have their arguments on his front lawn). Switzerland would and should have turned it down, but when America offered to pay…well, it’s not like going to the shooting range with America would be completely unbearable, would it? After checking that the nation did indeed have a permit to carry weapons in Switzerland-he wasn’t sure how the boy managed that without him knowing, but Switzerland decided it wasn’t worth the trouble to ask-they left for Vash’s favorite range. With Liechtenstein in tow, naturally, since Switzerland wouldn’t leave without her.

Vash spoke, slightly louder than usual, “I’m not taking your side, just so you know.”

Without looking away from the borrowed rifle, or the target, the American on his left replied, “Yeah, yeah, I know. I just wanna blow off some steam. I bet you do, too.”

The American adjusted his ear protectors one final time. They were the expensive electronic kind, of course, that allowed you to still talk normally but protected your hearing, while Switzerland owned old and worn-but-still-effective earmuffs. Several shots rang out from the American’s rifle.

In response, Switzerland squeezed the trigger on his rifle. Moments later, an almost neat, steady pattern of holes could be seen in the target. He had a fairly consistent cluster of hits.

Liechtenstein was in booth to her brother’s right. She had a pistol, and she let off three careful shots. She looked over to Switzerland; he nodded his approval.

The three continued on like that for an hour, going through several targets and spending craploads on ammunition. Switzerland reminded America that he had to use all the ammo he bought here at the range; taking any outside the range was illegal. The American smugly replied that he wasn’t a Swiss citizen, so he figured the whole scenario was probably illegal anyway. However, America did just as Switzerland asked-he used up every bullet.

Suprisingly, the entire ordeal wasn’t too bad. It did help Vash relax a little, even if it was America who’d caused him stress in the first place

California was just getting ready to go out to dinner-she had picked the perfect blue summer dress, and her auburn hair was styled and curled-when she heard her phone go off.

She looked down at the caller-ID, and frowned. Tex? You’re not going to rag on me about going out with a human girl, are you? California hesitated, but she picked up the phone anyway. Her sister’s southern drawl was accented with worry.

“California. Ginny just called, and she said Dad ain’t home yet.”

“What? Is he still in Europe?”

Tex said, ”Yep. And New York heard someone saw him with Switzerland, of all people. So, I’m thinking we’ve got to put aside our differences for now, Cali.”

“Don’t call me that. But yeah, I hear you. I’ll be over in a few, okay?”

California hung up, and cancelled her date. This wasn’t an overreaction, she told herself. Just playing it safe. It’s Dad after all, we can’t be too careful.

Notes: Anon has not been on a shooting range for many, many years (and I was always only there to watch, definitely not a gun person), so I hope this isn’t horribly, horribly inaccurate.

*is other authoranon* I haven't been to a shooting range either but that scene was just sweet and wonderful. I love how it's suddenly on with the states even though California's got a bit of doubt going on. I don't know why but the idea of everyone dropping everything, including grudges with each other, just to protect America warms my heart. Can't wait to see more, anon!

*is OP* You wrote the fill :'D I iz so happy ♥

Perfect first "date" for these two. Shooting range screams SwitzerlandxAmerica like no other setting xD I think you did a great job writing Vash in all his neutral/big bro glory.
OP's never been to a range, so np if it was inaccurate haha)

You made Cali a lesbian? AWESOME! :D God, word travels fast state-side. Love how Cali's all "this wasn't an overreaction." You're traveling across the country because your Dad is a little late coming home. Totally not overreacting there. [/sarcasm]

As I mentioned before, I'm so unbearably happy, both you and other author!anon just made my week. Now I can grudge my way through another school year with my weekly dose of yandereness 8D

“A gun range…are they trying to intimidate each other? What kind of first date is that?”

Several states gave Massachusetts an icy stare, particularly Montana, Kentucky, and Alaska, though they weren’t by any means the only ones. On the other hand, California and New York got a good laugh out of it.

A short, thin man with dark hair, a serious face, and a crisp suit hushed the rowdy states. Technically, he was a federal territory and not truly one of them, but the states treated him with respect because he was the personification of the District of Columbia, or Washington D.C. He wasn’t as strong or robust as the others, and he was prone to illness, but he was the guy with the information.

D.C. rapped his knuckles on the chalkboard to make sure he captured everyone’s attention. “I think it would be in Alfred’s best interest if we kept an eye on Mr. Switzerland, but I don’t think we have enough information to act yet. Therefore, I recommend-“ He swiftly placed his hand over his mouth to cover a cough. A few of the states looked concerned. “It’s the crime problem in D.C, nothing new-”

New York interrupted, “You sure you got the right info? Dad and Switzerland…that’s real hard to believe. It smells fishy.”

A voice among the crowd said, “So what? The guy’s a jerk, he deserves it anyway.” About ten of out of the fifty states murmured agreement.

A tanned little girl with almond eyes (everyone recognized her as little Hawaii), who looked to be about twelve, broke in with her own opinion. “Maybe he’s just Daddy’s friend. Daddy doesn’t have many friends who aren’t forced to be nice to him...”

The second youngest, Alaska, looked almost exactly like his other father, and was nearly as tall, but had his Dad’s eyes and nose. He turned to face his little sister, and smiled for her benefit. “That’s true, but Switzerland is not very friendly…casually hanging out with Daddy isn’t his style...we should watch him, just in case.”

Every state voiced their approval.

Liechtenstein had to remind her brother about his pajamas again. He often forgot to wear the pink pjs that she made him, but Switzerland would always wear it if she reminded him.

Right now, he was busying putting his all his guns away. He kept a couple by his bed, of course, and there was a pistol on the nightstand, but Lilli had slowly been persuading her brother to keep fewer and fewer at his side as the years passed. She smiled softly at her brother. For a few minutes, he left the room, but then came back with a basket of clean clothes. Lilli watched him carefully fold and put away the fresh laundry. She grabbed a few shirts and started to help.

“Today was very fun, big brother. Can…can we hang out with America again sometime?” Liechtenstein stared up into Switzerland’s face, looking faintly hopeful. “I would like to get out of the house more often.”

He paused, appearing to consider it for a moment. Vash said flatly, “We can’t get involved in his dispute with China.”

Lilli looked away, and mumbled something. It caught her brother’s attention, however. He was staring at her, so she repeated, “I don’t think it was about that. He just seemed to want to…have fun?”

A frown crossed his face. Vash grumbled something about neutrality and America being annoying, but in the end, he just said, ”I’m not going to go out of my way to talk to him. But I suppose…if America invites us to hang out with him again, we can go.”

Alfred was still stuck in a Swiss airport, and it was getting late. Really late. Unfortunately, almost everyone spoke Italian, so he wasn’t able to communicate with anyone properly. America wondered how he’d managed to get stuck in the part of Switzerland that spoke Italian rather than German or French, but there wasn’t anything he could do about it now. The workers spoke English, of course, but they didn’t seem to understand some of the words America used.

He’d tried speaking slower, and speaking louder, but that didn’t work. He stopped eating his burger, but even that wasn’t enough to clear up the communication troubles. Eventually, he gave up and rented a hotel room for the night.

Well, they might have a gps tracker on Al, they might have access to one of the satellites that fly over the world, or just an old fashioned phone tree. It's probably the last one since their information seems to be incomplete/slightly faulty.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you like it.
