The demon cupped Arthur's cheek in his hand, and he ran his thumb over the angel's lips, eyes narrowed while he watched intently. Arthur remained still while the demon touched him, and then the demon leaned forward, teeth glinting in the darkness from an unnatural light.
“You are mine,” the demon told him, pressing his cold lips against Arthur's forehead. “Have always been mine.”
Arthur wasn't sure how he was supposed to respond to that. He shut his eyes, then something seemed to pass over him.
He had raised the demon. He had taken him in, and had been banished from his home for his good deed. He had been punished in every way imaginable for caring for the child, raising him as a son. The fact that the demon seemed to believe that Arthur belonged to him (and always had) was a slap in the face. If anything, the demon belonged to Arthur, and not the other way around!
Had Arthur not been slightly addled from the lingering pain and shock from the day before, he probably would have kept his mouth shut for fear of death. Instead his eyes opened, and he glared at the demon before him.
“When have I ever been yours?” Arthur demanded, and the demon cocked an eyebrow. “You were mine. It did not go both ways. I raised you, you ungrateful beast. I raised you, and you tried to kill me. What makes you think you have the right to take me like this, away from my home, and-”
“I'm stronger than you,” the demon told him, and Arthur narrowed his eyes. The demon leaned closer, his face inches from Arthur's. “My name,” the demon told him, and Arthur shut his mouth. “Say my name.”
Arthur clenched his fists into what blankets he could grab, and he swallowed. “I refuse.”
Shouldn't take long to update. >.> I'd like this finished today, so yeah..
