The answer was yes. Evil was evil. Evil could be hidden and manipulated, but it could never be destroyed. There would always be that urge, to destroy and hurt, that would never disappear.

Arthur refused to acknowledge the signs. He refused to see the markings that the tiny child left on the forest trees, the trees that Arthur had insisted were alive, waiting to age and release seeds for the animals and for new trees to go. He had caught him in the act, once, and had punished him justly, sending him to his room after a stern lecture and punishment. The demon resented him for it, and Arthur felt a tiny tremor sweep through him when the child was out of sight and on the other side of the closed door.

He ignored it, and that was his third mistake.

Behind the child-like exterior was still a demon, and a powerful one at that. Under the care of the angel, the demons emotions became conflicted. He wanted love, but he wanted destruction. And as a demon, when he received one, he needed to receive the other.

That fact had escaped Arthur, and he only remembered when the end had finally come, and when his three mistakes had built up into something uncontrollable, something deadly.

Arthur played with the child on the grass, trying to reinforce the value of life in all things, and the names of the plants and flowers. The demon followed behind him slowly, enchanted by Arthur's words, and Arthur had looked back at him. It took only a moment for everything to change; it took only a name.

Arthur thought nothing of it. He looked at the child, and he smiled. “And your name is Alfred.”

The end had come.

Warning: Dub-con/rape. Etc. It got a bit out of hand.

Arthur had been left alone, battered and bloody. Alfred had disappeared, and all that Arthur could think of was balance and necessity. He had made mistakes; he had lost Alfred. His body hurt, and his wings wouldn't move. His fingers grasped at the grass around him, and the pain that tore through him dulled to a throb, a burn that refused to leave.

Arthur didn't know how long he lay there, but in time he was retrieved, pulled into the sky by the angels he had pushed aside. The “I told you so”s were left unsaid, but Arthur knew that everyone thought it. And he agreed with it.

He had made a mistake. A big mistake. He had been a fool, had ignored the warning signs.

You couldn't cure evil. You could only hide it until it was ready to lash out, ready to decimate whatever was in its path. Alfred had been an embodiment of evil. Nothing could have changed that.

Arthur just wished that he had realized it before his affections had grown. It would have been far easier.

Centuries passed. Wounds slowly healed. Angels and demons warred. It was a never-ending cycle, one that had lasted for many millennia, and would continue until the end of time. Arthur held back from the fights that he so wanted to join, instead choosing to remain in the library of the clouds, where he could read of the world below the surface of the earth, and the skies above. The books could only hold his attention for so long before he wandered outside and to the edge of the clouds, to look down on the battles and peoples below.

People fascinated him. While he never joined into the battles below, he would leave the clouds for the land, and wander through the forest and towns, unseen by all but the most innocent of children. Other angels scolded him and watched with suspicion, worried that he had been changed by the demon those centuries before. Arthur had been almost dead when they had brought him back, and any other angel would have avoided the earth at all costs so that they wouldn't be put in harm's way once more. His insistence in visiting the people unnerved the angels above, and a rift formed between them.

Arthur stayed with the people, or in the library.

The angels stayed away from him. The people (aside from children) didn't see him. And over time, Arthur began to feel the pangs of loneliness, when the only ones that would speak to him were the small children that eventually grew up to believe that he had been an imaginary friend.

Arthur grew used to the loneliness. In fact, he turned it into something great. He did what he wanted, without worrying about consequences. No one wanted to bother with an angel that was so close to falling, an angel that could easily disrupt the peace that had taken thousands of years to build. Yet they refused to let him out of sight. They didn't speak to him, but they didn't turn away from him.

In a way, the civilization above the clouds had started making its own mistakes. They failed to appreciate the fact that an angel had taken in a demon. It had never happened before, and surely wouldn't happen again. But because it had never happened before, they had thought nothing of it. They hadn't thought about revenge, or the fact that demons found it necessary to finish their work. They didn't think about the connection between children and their parents. They preferred to forget about the incident, and pretend that it had never happened.

It took only a hundred years to forget the incident, but three hundred years later it reared its ugly head once more. Arthur avoided the topic when it arose, but it was impossible not to hear of the demon below, that walked the earth and searched the forests. Angels that had seen it spoke of its terrible eyes, like sapphires, that could consume souls and destroy hope. They hated and feared the demon, but at the same time, they looked hesitantly towards Arthur. No one wanted to acknowledge that there may have been a connection between Arthur and the new demon, but it was unsettling how the demon seemed to resemble the tiny child-demon from long ago.

The angels didn't trust Arthur, but they were unwilling to risk one of their own. Arthur suddenly found himself joined by no less than five angels at a time, something that annoyed and angered him to no end. He had grown used to isolation, and the presence of a small group bothered him. He had snapped at them time and time again, warning them and reassuring them that there was no way the demon on the earth below was connected to him.

No one believed him.

They were right.

The war started once more, and angels left the clouds for the battlefield once more. But this time, many did not return. And those that did spoke of the new demon, and how he would take the angels and hold them, squeezing them until they stopped struggling, and then he would look at them.

He did no more than that. And when he was finished, he would toss them aside and leave them.

No angels dared approach those that had fallen. Few died; most woke later, to flee the earth and take solace in the clouds above. Their haven was safe; they didn't need to fear the monsters below.

The angels spent more time above the earth than in the fights below. Arthur's guard changed slightly, and he was no longer flanked on all sides wherever he walked. He neared the edge of the clouds once, simply curious, and he looked down on the earth below despite the protests of his fellow angels. He had always been rebellious, and he looked down to spite them.

The earth's surface was miles away, but Arthur could see. Blue eyes, tan skin, blond hair. They called out to him, and he narrowed his own green eyes, his brows furrowing. After a moment, he tore his eyes from those that called to him, and he stalked away. The angels behind him followed, and he tried not to think unpleasant thoughts, thoughts of anger towards those that seeked to protect him from an enemy that they weren't sure was there.

Law [2c/2] anonymous August 28 2010, 05:17:35 UTC
But the enemy was there. And the enemy had waited for so long, waited for a sign, a look. Blue had met green, and the demon below had finally known.

He was up there.

That was all the demon needed to know. It took no time at all for him to find his way to the clouds, and he happened upon a gathering of angels within hours of his arrival. There was fear and outrage, but anything that the angels tried to throw at the demon did nothing. The demon grimaced at the treatment, and his eyes flashed red.

“Arthur,” was all he said, and the angels reacted violently.

Curses flew back and forth, hatred and mistrust, and angels tried to stop the demon's progress into the buildings of their home. It didn't take long at all for the demon to find his way to the library, and to Arthur, who was seated at a table within.

Arthur looked up when the doors slammed, and his eyes widened in shock as the angels at his side left him. They attacked the demon, but were easily tossed aside as the demon approached Arthur and looked down at him.

Blue met green, and the demon seemed pleased with what was before him. He reached for the angel and yanked him to his feet, then hefted him onto his shoulder and turned away from the shelves of books.

Arthur fought.

At least, he tried to fight.

But demons were better equipped for dealing with angels, than angels were at defending themselves. Angels had magic; demons had brute strength. If a demon were ever to fight against an angel, on an equal level, the demon would win. There was no question about that. Arthur tried everything he could, pushing away, swearing, casting spell after spell to make the demon let go.

But the demon felt nothing, and simply held on tighter through Arthur's struggling. He walked through the halls of terrified angels, angels that didn't know whether to help their fellow angel or run away. Arthur reached a hand out, but no one moved. He was alone in this dilemma, and no one was willing to help him.

Arthur wouldn't have minded going below the surface of the earth. Anywhere would have been better than the middle of the forest, to the house preserved from hundreds of years prior. Arthur was dropped on the old table just inside the door, and his wings fluttered in surprise and panic. The demon took a single step back, his hands still gripping Arthur tightly, and his blue eyes flashed red.

“You,” the demon finally said, voice low. He watched Arthur intently, gauging his reaction to his words. “I've looked for you.”

Arthur glared at the demon and batted at his hands. “Off me,” he ordered, but the demon didn't move. Instead he watched, eyes blue once more, and Arthur could see what his fellow angels had meant.

Those blue eyes were both freezing and on fire. They threatened to tear through him and devour him, and his breath caught in his throat. Had the demon been smaller, he would have looked exactly like the child from so many years before, that innocent (sly) smile and that hidden ferocity.

“For all these years. I searched.” The demon leaned in closer, locking his eyes with Arthur's. “You never looked for me, did you? You stayed up in the clouds. Alone.”

“Stop,” Arthur sighed, but he didn't expect the demon to listen. He was at a serious disadvantage, and his situation became more and more serious every moment longer that he was with the demon before him.

“You never looked,” the demon repeated, eyes narrowed with anger. “You forgot. Fucking bastard, you-”

“Alfred,” Arthur whispered, and then Alfred grabbed him and pulled him from the table, pushing him through a door and into the bedroom that Arthur had once shared with the young demon. The bed was made, the sheets new, and Arthur was shoved down onto the bed.

“I waited.”

“You almost killed me,” Arthur reminded, trying to push himself up on his elbows. But Alfred pushed him back down, and started to unbutton his jacket. Alfred had to response to Arthur's statement, and instead removed his shirt completely.

Neither spoke. Arthur didn't move as Alfred straddled him. He simply watched as Alfred removed his shirt, and then unbuttoned his pants. Then, instead of completely removing said pants, he reached for Arthur. His fingers danced up Arthur's sides, on top of the tunic he wore, and he pushed up.

The white tunic was easily pushed over Arthur's head and dropped from the bed, and then a hand was thrust into Arthur's face.

“Suck,” Alfred demanded, and Arthur's eyes widened slightly. Three fingers prodded against his lips, and Arthur grit his teeth. “You want it to hurt?” Alfred demanded, and he used his other hand to force Arthur's jaw open. He pressed his fingers inside, and Arthur looked up at him with narrowed eyes. “Suck,” Alfred repeated, but his voice had deepened. It had an almost magical undertone to it, and Arthur slowly pressed his tongue against the digits in his mouth.

“Arthur,” Alfred warned, and his Adam's apple bobbed when he swallowed. “You're going to have to do better than that.”

Arthur grimaced and pulled Alfred's fingers deeper into his mouth, licking and sucking as much as he could while Alfred adjusted his position. Arthur tried not to react to the bulge that pressed against his thigh, and he tried to think of better things.

Thinking of better things and times was easier when you weren't trapped in a house with a demon, the same house, in fact, that you raised said demon in.

“Arthur,” Alfred groaned when he rubbed his groin against Arthur's thigh. Arthur tried to speak, but the fingers moved within his mouth, catching his tongue, preventing words. “So alone,” Alfred breathed, and the fingers were removed from Arthur's mouth. Before Arthur could wonder about what Alfred said, a finger was pressed into his ass, and his body went rigid.

Alfred moved his finger, ignoring Arthur's sharp breaths as he concentrated on pushing in and out, and stretching the tight hole with one finger, and then two. Arthur grabbed for Alfred's shoulder and clenched, his grip strong enough to bruise, but Alfred didn't seem to notice.

“Were you lonely too?” Alfred demanded, glaring at Arthur. Arthur kept his eyes trained on the ceiling, his body tense his mind racing. Alfred pushed, adding another finger and stretching him, then leaned forward to breath in his ear. “I was lonely, Arthur. So lonely.”

The fingers were gone then, and Arthur could hear the rustle of fabric as Alfred shifted his position. Then Alfred held onto Arthur's shoulder, and he pushed inside.

Arthur choked, and then he wailed. His hands flew up and he tried to hit at Alfred, as his body burned with the pain of Alfred's penetration. He tried to push Alfred away, but Alfred would have none of it; Alfred took his arms and held him still, pausing briefly to give Arthur a chance to adjust.

“You ruined me,” Alfred whispered, ignoring Arthur's whines and pleas. “You raised me. An angel.” Alfred pulled his hips back, and then thrust forward. A cry tore from Arthur's throat, high and pained, and Alfred thrust again. “You know what happens to demons raised by angels?” Alfred hissed, demanding that Arthur listen. “They're thrown out. They're bastards, corrupted by good. They're useless to the rest of the group, they become the tools of war. No privileges, no rights, no nothing.”

“Get off,” Arthur whispered, choking on air. “Stop. Stop, it hurts, jus-”

“And you never came back for me,” Alfred snapped, emphasizing his point with a sharp thrust. Arthur tried to grab something, anything, but the only thing within reach was Alfred. “I waited. But you stayed up there, on the fucking clouds!”

Arthur couldn't make a sound. His head was thrown back into the pillow, his face contorted with pain, and his body was tense. He was erect, but far from enjoying himself. Alfred seemed to dislike the silence, as he began to twist and turn, adjusting his position in an attempt to hit more, and hit harder. Arthur's body jerked as his vision flashed black and white, and he trembled when Alfred repeatedly hit that spot. He forced his eyes to open, and he stared at the demon above him, at the red eyes, the snarl.

“Alfred,” Arthur choked, and Alfred looked at him.

Arthur let his head fall back against the pillow as his body tensed and relaxed, and he could feel his cock softening after release. He was sore, in pain, and a number of other things that he couldn't possibly hope to describe. Alfred was looking down at him with wide eyes, the same eyes he had shown when he was young, eyes full of innocence and life.

Arthur didn't remember Alfred's release. He didn't remember much besides the pain, and those eyes, staring, threatening to tear through him. Alfred climbed onto the bed slowly and pressed his nose against Arthur's collarbone, sniffing him, wrapping himself around him.

Arthur stared at the ceiling, and tried to avoid Alfred's eyes. The eyes that begged companionship in a harsh world, that demanded attention and love. The eyes that wanted to be called by name, and held in high regard.

The angels of the clouds were pure beings. Arthur could never return as he was. Laws put in place thousands of years prior would prohibit him from joining those he had once been a part of.

What else could he do but to remain on earth, a fallen angel in the company of a demon?

This got a bit out of hand, OP. Totally my bad. I can do an omake if anyone wants a better resolution to this. That's no problem. Just uh... Yeah. This was supposed to be fluff.

Soooo sorry for the drama.

And I totally second that omake idea. I would love to see what happens to Arthur and Alfred afterwards.

NOT OP says this::

How dare you apologize for such a a...an incredible fill it was so great I'm not ashamed to say that it left me a bit breathless. The drama was just right and the characterizations...even with the characters so incredible different their (at least I did not) not viewed as OOC because their traits were still there and you stayed true to the Au AND the canon. America needs approval and went mad without others (he is a very sociable person even if he isn't well liked). You fit him perfectly and how he most likely would have acted if he were a demon. A sign of a good writer is staying true to canon but being able to shape that character into who they /would/ be if in a certain universe where there not for example a super power who is supposed to be a hero and anything but evil (even though he can totally be poor hero sighs).

I think the reason evil 'triumphed' here was because of the utter loneliness he discovered he'd be feeling throughout his eternal life and the resentment he felt towards Arthur...and that corrupted love of course. Alfred was evil and these things just tipped him over the edge...am I wrong on this??? Please do tell!

Omake: I wouldn't say make a omg flllluffff!! Omake (unless its during when he was a kid still in B!Angel's care since I have a feeling that at least some of his actions were not completely demonic) because it would sorta ruin this...I think...it may take away something out of it...but I would definitely adore more added to this because it was such a wonderful fill and although the ending was indeed appropriate it...seemed like there's just more and I would love to see what that more is...after all Arthur basically has to live with this demon he raised who nearly kill him for the rest of eternity or runaway, be lonely, and most likely get tracked down throughout the world (I doubt Al would kill the only companion he'll ever have...unless a certain French men adopts someone...god now I'm thinking about incubus!France and who the hell Prussia would be what w his already red eyesDXXX)

Im very very very happy this wasn't fluff. This story wasn't meant to be short and sweet, it was meant to pack more punch and 'whoosh' then that which it did and was very

Also I could see the 'corruption' Al talked about leaking through at the end. They both left such deep marks on one another ;A;

So are you making an omake?? Or feeling that other demon/angel thing I saw floating around here? And did you have other stories if so pllllease (if you want of course ! :) link me to your wonderful fills filled with wonderfulness??

aquance incubus, lol captcha niiiice it agrees with me...wait aquance...acquaintance?? O.o!! >)

Oh man, I love answering questions about themes and shit :D

First off, thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed, and the bit about characteriation really perked me up despite how fucking tired I am, lol (2:55 am where I am right now).

You also asked about how evil "triumphed", and I'll try to get you the answer you want.

Demons, in this fic, are very instinctual, as you could (hopefully) tell from the context in the beginning. Alfred's instincts were knocked around a bit from his upbringing, which should have been explained. I suppose how I explained this was a lot about instincts, and how difficult they are to suppress. Demons will always have evil within them, just like how the angels will have good in them. Arthur tried his damndest to raise Alfred as good as could be, but the evil couldn't go away. If you know anything about Ecology, Environment, stuff like that, you could take a look at "Energy". A law of energy states that it can not be created, and it can not be destroyed. Transform that energy into the "good" and "bad" in the angels and demons, and it brings up the idea that the good and evil can never disappear (can not be destroyed), and that it will always be there. The angel or demon may supress it, but it never leaves them completely. When I wrote it, I honestly believed that the evil would always be there. It would not be suppressed for the duration of his life. However, because of his conflicted upbringing, he lost control earlier than he would have with other demons, and as a result, almost killed his guardian.

And at that point in time, he was left to essentially fend for himself, because no one was willing to take him.

I am planning on a sequel/omake, and in that, there will be more on how corruption works, how the relationship turns out, stuff like that. I find it harder and harder to write fluff as time goes on, so yeah.

And other stories. I don't have the links to all of the kink meme fills, but I have most of my stories and kink meme fills posted on my journal (I have an index here: http://semebay.livejournal.com/2547.html).

And I haven't actually seen the other angel/demon fill. I don't know where it is. I haven't actually been watching part 14 or 13, and some friends kinda convinced me to fill this because no one was taking on the bonus in art form.

Err sorry for the fail English I usually know how to write complete sentences..-_-;

Yah what you put (instinctual) and then that whole raise by good thing and such pushed him over the edge. Thanks for that whole energy ex. too (I hated studying that but I still remember!!!) it helped and let me get it more!

He had no friends in hell ...no wonder he was so lonely. Arthur was at least let back in I take in Alfred's re-entrance must have been harsh. How old was he when he went back to hell (and had his mind warped this badly)? But seriously how'd he think Arthur would take nearly being killed and then him never coming back to apologize (or at least not until 100 years or so) ?

Oooh thanks for the link!

I think your friends should convince you to write more (ESP. those darker angstier request since... damn!) ^^ Your an insane writer (no for real you are!) and I have a strong feeling that even if I didn't like the characters in the fic you'd make me like them.

lol. I noticed no fail!English!

And no problem about the energy thing. We're doing it in college right now, so yeah. And all of your questions are going to be answered in the sequel, promise! (and I have so many ongoing fics right now that anymore would kill me, tbch. But I know that I'll get roped into something somehow, lol)

Thanks for the comments, seriously <3 I love people telling me what they think, good or bad.
