You've Found a Way to Make Me Smile (2/2)

------------------- As Lithuania drifted into consciousness the next morning, he found himself curiously entangled in a sense of pure warmth, of utter satisfaction, and perfect safety. His eyes fluttered open, bleary and somewhat confused. But then, as he registered the feel of familiar arms wrapped around his torso, a smile as warm as the sunlight streaming through the window spread across his face, and he let out a soft sigh.
“Feliks,” he breathed, barely audible. He gazed down to where Poland had his head pressed against his chest, soft blond hair falling in disheveled ringlets around him. Lithuania’s hands moved almost of their own accord, one brushing against Poland’s eyelashes as lightly as a butterfly, as the other came up to flit across Poland’s shoulders, counting the barely-noticeable freckles that were scattered across the skin. There were nineteen on his right shoulder and twenty seven on his left. Just as always. And each freckle was gorgeous, like droplets of chocolate on pale parchment. Gorgeous, like Poland himself.
Lithuania felt his heart swell within his chest, almost aching with the sudden surge of affection that gripped him, and he grinned helplessly. How could Poland think he loved him more? Lithuania knew it was impossible; if anyone loved anything more than he loved Poland, they would break, because no heart could carry that much emotion. He inhaled deeply, breathing in Poland’s familiar scent.
“How to describe the angel of everything anyone’s ever sought?” Lithuania murmured softly, fingers brushing against Poland’s hair. “Green eyes, like twin peridots . . . the warmest heart on earth . . . a smile like the hearth . . .” He paused, wincing at the awkwardness of the rhyme.
“Hrm . . . Liet, that’s cute.”
Lithuania jumped slightly as Poland shifted in his arms and turned his head to grin brightly up at him.
“F-Feliks . . . you were awake?”
“Yeah, but it was, like, totally nice to just lie there and listen to you breathe, y’know?” Poland pressed a soft kiss to Lithuania’s collarbone. “But, Liet, there was, like, one problem with your poem.”
“Sorry, Felik-,” Lithuania began, but found himself suddenly cut off as Poland pressed a finger to his lips.
“Yeah . . . one problem . . . your eyes are totally emeralds, not peridots.” He grinned, and his eyes, of a lighter, brighter green, sparkled with laughter.
Lithuania felt a flush creep up his cheeks. “Feliks . . .”
Poland giggled and nuzzled his nose gently against the crook of Lithuania’s neck. “Liet . . . ,” he murmured, relishing in the sound of the name. “Like, do we have to get up today?”
Lithuania smiled. “Not yet, at least.”
“Hmm . . . good . . . ,” Poland replied. His arms tightened around Lithuania, pulling him closer until they were pressed chest to chest. “Let’s stay here.”
“I completely agree.”

A/N: Doesn't follow the song perfectly, and this is so sappy I think my teeth all have cavities now, but I hope you still like it.

I think I just slithered into a happy, smiling-like-a-fool heap on the floor. This is the kind of fluff I love reading for my favorite pairings (and LietPol is one of them, of course).
As Lithuania drifted into consciousness the next morning, he found himself curiously entangled in a sense of pure warmth, of utter satisfaction, and perfect safety.
