Canada found him in his apartment, some days after the end of the Soviet Union, drunk. She cleaned him, put him in fresh clothes and cut his hair. She changed the sheets and opened the windows. She meant to make him the strongest coffee he ever had in his life, but all he had was vodka and black tea, so black tea it was.
Then she made him brush his teeth (no teeth missing this time, thankfully), and lay down on the bed, even when he insisted he didn’t want to sleep.
She laid beside him, and stared at the ceiling for some time.
“Madeleine,” He called softly and quietly, and she jumped a little because no one called her by her name in so many years, that she was just not used to it anymore. He brought a hand to her cheek and brushed an unexciting flock of dust away. “Thank you.”
Canada smiled. Russia had that weird look in his eyes again, and she knew it was something she was supposed to recognize.
“And I’m sorry.”
An apology. Oh, so that was what it was.
She suddenly felt like crying like she hadn’t in a long time.
Russia pulled her to his arms and held her close. He kissed her temple softly, comforting and being comforted, and allowing all nightmares to slip away.

“Beat you ass tonight, dear.” She breathed into his ear.
“Nonsense, my team hadn’t had enough time to prepare.” His hands descended to her thighs slowly, causing tickles along the way. Canada giggled.

“And how you intend to use that advantage?” Russia asked skeptically, calmly walking down the hallway to her bedroom. Canada chuckled and pressed two fingertips between his shoulder blades.
“I have a couple of ideas.”
He opened the door with his foot and deposited her on the bed. “You and your ideas.” He took off his scarf and started pulling his jersey.
“Hey, my ideas are great, eh?” She had already taken off her heels and was in the process of stripping off her pants.
“Of course, because washing maple syrup from my legs really was arousing.” Belt off, pants, underwear, shoes, socks.
“You weren’t complaining when I was cleaning it from other, more interesting parts of your anatomy, honey.” Blouse, bra, and the glasses on the nightstand.

“Stop teasing,” She whined, but sighed heavily when he pinched her again.
He slid a hand down between them and rubbed slow circles over her clit. Canada writhed around him; Russia kissed her nose. His fingers entered her, going as far as they could.
“I told you to stop teasing me!” Canada whined a bit more insistently and punched him lightly. Russia found her lips and kissed her lazily as he removed his fingers and pushed his cock in. Canada pushed his sweaty hair out of his eyes, and kissed the bridge of his big nose. “I demand breakfast in bed tomorrow.”
Russia laughed a bit breathlessly, “I always make breakfast.”
“You make sandwiches and tea; I want pancakes with maple syrup and coffee.”
Russia pulled out slowly and rested his head on the crook of her neck. “Alright.”
“And you have to wear that cute little apron France gave me.” She beamed.
“No, anything but that.” Russia slurred half-heartedly.
“Yeees, no excuses.” Canada hugged him lightly, and smiled. “Hey, Ivan.”
“Mm?”
“Nothing, nothing really.”
------------ Don't you just hate word limits? Russian phrase generally means 'happy to meet you'. Dorky title is dorky, but I couldn't think of a better one. Russia still has his Austrian Vereinstaler btw. He's waiting for the right moment to give it back.

Ahn... not really? The second kiss is supposed to be set during World War I, because of the trenches and poisoned air and stuff. Russian troops were really disperse in that war because of the revolution going on back home so, there. Sorry!

I thought the Vereinstaler was a reference to the looting of dead bodies and POWs in WWI for money/cigarettes/souvenirs? Not something ever covered in my high school history classes. >>; Gouzenko/kiss 4 being something else entirely.
