Almost a week since the update and I FINALLY got around reading it. I noticed that this update's much longer than usual, which was a real treat. :D
As always, you manage to have me keyboard smashing the entire way. FRANCIS ALMOST WALKED IN ON THEM, I STILL CAN'T WRAP MY MIND AROUND IT. Gods, Alfred, having Arthur lie right through his teeth and cleaning up evidence like that. Shit. That jealousy of the bond between Francis and Arthur, too, which for some reason stood out much more than it did in past chapters. Huh, I guess it's 'cause it comes right after the dirty deeds, which Alfred gave up that friendship-intimacy for.
Have I mentioned how wonderfully painful it is to watch every little thing built up between Alfred and Arthur crumble apart, like that key chain? Alfred feeling hurt over it sounds preposterous but utterly believable, like everything else in this story asfjfjkbl. And and the continued fail communication between Alfred and Mathew too. *wibbles*
Hell, if Alfred's this messed up, I can't imagine what Arhur's going through.
And holy crap that last bit there-! W-why so forebodingly beautiful and dark, authornon? I love you <333
