Nervous (2/4) anonymous June 9 2010, 18:49:16 UTC

Latvia was slightly surprised when the car stopped near a market. He didn't know where he thought they were going, but he hadn't expected that Russia was telling the truth. Russia pulled him from the car with a smile, holding his hand as they walked into the open-air market. Even though it was early, the street was crowded. Latvia kept his eyes down, feeling like everyone could see the diaper under his clothes.

Russia hummed cheerfully as he moved through the market at a leisurely pace, stopping at the stands and chatting with the sellers about their wares. He roamed through nearly the whole length of it without buying anything, then went back to the beginning to look it all over again.

Latvia, already nervous about the whole situation, was beginning to feel even more uneasy. Russia was clearly in no hurry to get home; quite the opposite. Meanwhile, Latvia's body was reminding him that he hadn't gotten a chance to use the bathroom that morning; his bladder was uncomfortably full. This early, the shops on the street were still closed - the market was just the travelling kiosks and booths; no place with a bathroom was open. He didn't even want to consider that maybe this business with the diaper meant Russia wouldn't let him go even if there was a place.

Russia seemed to be taking as long as possible at the market - at the fruit stands he examined every piece of fruit before he made a selection, and he chatted with the vendors at length, unconcerned with time. Latvia squirmed uncomfortably, hoping Russia was too occupied with his conversation to notice.

Although Russia kept talking, Latvia saw his eyes shift towards him, the corner of his lip turn up in a faint smile. Finally he bid the merchant farewell and came over to Latvia, bent down to whisper in his ear. "Whatever is the matter, Latvia? You look uncomfortable."

Latvia didn't say anything, didn't know what to say that wouldn't provoke some sort of reaction out of Russia. He didn't understand why Russia was doing this, so figuring out how to avoid making him mad seemed impossible.

Russia smiled down at him with apparent benevolence. "Ah, very well, my little one. Let's go." With his basket of purchases on one arm, he hooked Latvia's elbow with the other and walked them back to the car.

Latvia's relief that they were going home faded as he realized, twenty minutes into the drive, that they weren't anywhere near home. He wasn't sure when Russia had taken a turn off the way home, but they were nowhere near it now. "Where are we going?" he asked timidly.

"It's a lovely day for a drive," Russia said mildly. "Why, were you in a hurry?"

He pursed his lips, deciding whether or not to speak. "I have to go to the bathroom," he finally admitted.

Russia raised an eyebrow. "I believe you are equipped for that, yes?"

Latvia colored. No matter how badly he had to pee, he wasn't going to pee in the diaper. Wasn't.
