So shit finally happened. Poor England, he even called France to talk. And poor America, hearing it like that. I can't help but feel he must've known deep down something was wrong, to follow his lover like that, already with a twisting in his stomach. My heart broke when he returned to the house and everything was deceptively the same, even though nothing was. It was a great way to explain how one feels after a devastating revelation, and OP knows what she's talking about.
And poor France, giving good advice and loving both of them, and worrying about them...and I'm definitely intrigued by the fact you chose that particular path to take this. America's reaction was fascinating, his sincerity about the hypocrisy he wants to protect. I find it specially interesting that he doesn't lie to himself, he doesn't even try to tell himself it wasn't real, he fully knows he wants things to remain the same even if England's hurting; hell, he purposefully sabotages England's desolate atempt to talk about it. Wow, I love you anon <3 (oh, and the emotional blackmailing at the end there...with the 'I love you, you know?'...oh, America, you know full well how much power you hold over England's heart, how important your love is to him...what lengths he's ready to go to have it)
