Take your time anon...I'll be here waiting when you get back... :-) I'd wait years for this story say me true. :-)
So are we allowed to ask what fill the US/? rare pair is for because I love me some rair pairs so I'd love to be able to keep an eye out for it... ;-)
And yeah San Fran is gorgeous. Definitely on the list of my top places to live...if it wasn't so darn expensive and of course there's that small detail about it's occasional need to let out some pressure in a very over dramatic way to think about as well...

Playing with the idea of Ireland/America, Germany/America/Prussia, Mexico/America, Spain/America, China/America, Japan/America. Yeah, decisiveness is not one of my qualities.
I'm leaning right now towards writing him interacting with all of them.
So far I'm planning to have short drabbles of interaction between him and the above-mentioned Nations, and if/when I ever decide to pair him up with someone in particular I'd probably then...write more? Oooh fear my planning skills!

Oh god your writing that one too! *flails* I LOVE that fill. Now the whole Germany/America/Prussia makes me even happier if it's an option for that one! But any of them would be lovely well I'll admit I'm not really into Japan/America but I'd be curious to see how you handle them. :-)

Oooo, Ireland/America is awesome!!! So much history! Same for Germany/America, and Japan/America. Ah ha ha... Mexico/America is complicated. Especially now with all the immigration issues and drug trafficing. It gets tricky.
I can't say how I feel about China America because... well, that's also complicated. I actually know some Chinese exchange students. One of them is actually a Hetalia fan (yay for cross-cultural fangirling!!!) and she ships China/Russia hardcore. I asked her if she shipped China with anyone else because I tend to ship America with pretty much anyone. She kind of gave me a small smile and implied that not many fans in her country like shipping China with two countries in particular. She said Japan was one of them. I asked her who the other was and then she got a bit embarrassed and said it was America. I still am afraid to ask why... I personally feel funny about shipping them because of the debt thing. *head desk*
I hope you write more though! You write wonderfully!

This is why I love this fandom the different opinions on ships and how everyone has different reasons for wanting or not wanting to ship different pairings. For me the debt is one of the reasons I love to ships China/America it makes things all deliciously tangled and complicated and adds a lot of layers to the shipping process. It's a delicate type rope and can, and does, get done wrong quite easily but when it's done right...hmmm is it tasty.
Myself on the other hand can't handle reading Japan/America/Japan it just makes me incredibly uncomfortable to even think about it I love them as friends but romantically it bothers me because of that shared history and the things they've done to each other.

Take your time.. (although I'm really really looking forward to this) I think everyone can understand being in a writers block. I'm stuck in one myself right now. DX "I'm finding it hard to like Arthur right now. OTL oh, it's a stupid reason. Random fills that are in themselves gorgeous keep me wibbling for Alfred and not, even though I often have good reason (and sometimes BETTER reason) for it, for Arthur. I hate it, and am ashamed of myself, but I don't WANT to write happy USUK. Auuuugh. *hangs head*"
I'm curious what fills made you feel that way. links please??

Understandable. I'm actually feeling that way about Alfred and Arthur equally... Except in my case it's about politics. (Uhg, right wingers on both sides of the atlantic, why so much race fail?!?!?) But, yeah, I get why you need to step back and rethink things. It hard to write when you don't really like the character.
Enjoy your time at the states! California is amazing. Just.... stay away from the south. Mainly Arizona if you can. (I hate my state right now, you don't even know...)

Thanks for the kind comment. :) I actually feel like I still like Arthur, but then when I sit down and write I flash to the ones where I don't...if that makes sense. And yeah, California is amazing. Arizona....I've actually wanted to see the American southwest for years, but yeah, not a smart idea to go there, right? My last name is even super-Latino (__________ de ____________) and we're dark-skinned, woe.

Not all the south is bad though...it's not really fair to write it all off just because there is a lot of WTF that seems to congregate there... :-/
I highly recommend Savannah, Georgia if you get the change. It's beautiful there and a lot of gorgeous old buildings and a lot of civil war history. They managed to escape Sherman's March by surrendering and then allowing the Yankees to occupy them though they were most displeased about it and did lots of things to try and irritate them and get them to leave. Good historical times.
