"What the sodding fuck?" Arthur screamed as a bullet from below nearly grazed his ear. "Who the hell are you? Release me this instant!"

"It's America, America Jones!" his surprise kidnapper yelled, and Arthur gave a start. The voice sounded youthful and ridiculously pleased, and he wriggled in his grasp to look at his face. This 'America' was young, boyish, tanned and blond, with a fedora on his head, a gigantic grin, and bright blue eyes that were sparkling with excitement. "Don't worry, I'm a hero!"

"America?" Arthur asked in disbelief. What did the boy think he was doing, playing a video game? "What are you, some stupid wannabe adventurer?"

Arthur felt his feet touch a stone ledge, and 'America' let go of his waist and the rope, letting it swing back. "Sure, but I'm a lot cooler than that!"

He heard the sound of another gunshot, and pulled America behind a rock. "Get your arse out of the way before you get the both of us killed!" he hissed, looking around the stone to see Francis signal a veritable army of thugs forward.

"Come on, this way!" America grabbed his hand and dragged him forward, sprinting down the corridor.

"Let me go!"

"I'm trying to save you, idiot!"

Arthur pulled America down as a poisoned dart from a concealed hole whizzed over their heads. "Save me?" he spat, jumping up and running for his life. "I was doing perfectly fine by myself!"

America had the gall to laugh riotously, clutching his stomach as he sprinted through the corridor. "Yeah, okay, and that's why you were tied up and at that guy's mercy. Now hurry up!"

Arthur sped up slightly, stepping on the side of the wall and narrowly dodging a thrown knife. "Oh do shut up," he said irritably, matching America's pace. "Don't talk about things you don't understand."

"I understand damsels in distress! Come on, I think he's gaining on us!"

With a swift movement Arthur grabbed the guns from the holsters strapped to his thighs and whirled around, aiming at the men following. He ran backwards, expertly dodging traps and adjusting his balance as he shot bullet after bullet into the fray.

America grinned. "That works too."

Arthur chanced a glance behind and widened his eyes as he saw an unbalanced pillar in their path. "Look out, you idiot!" he yelled as he ducked underneath, skidding to the edge of a deep pit blocking their path.

"Oh, whoops!" America exclaimed, narrowly dodging the beam and cracking his whip at the ceiling, letting it twist around a beam. He grabbed Arthur by the waist and pushed off the edge, swinging across the hole.

Arthur kept shooting at the men, and aimed a gun at Francis, but the tell-tale click informed him that he was out of ammo. He tried the other one- no luck. "Bugger," he cursed, thrusting the guns back into their holsters. "I'm all out."

"Such a shame," America said, landing on the other side and rolling on the stone floor, pinning Arthur down. He grinned and winked. "Hey, good lookin'."

Arthur shoved him off angrily. "You're just as bad as he is."

America pulled them both up and cracked his whip against the floor. "Nah, I'll never tie you up," he replied, sending another cheeky grin Arthur's way.

Arthur ignored it. "That's a nice whip you have there."

"Comes with the job."

The men on the other side brought down long ladders across the pit and started to crawl their way across. It seemed Francis didn't come unprepared. The two turned around and dashed down the corridor.

"Hey look, it's the exit!" America yelled.

"Good, now shut up and run faster! I've got a bike waiting outside."

"Will do! Just try and keep up!"

Arthur glared at him in irritation and put on a burst of speed, overtaking him easily. "You just try and keep up with me, upstart."

"Hey, I'm the hero!" America protested, sprinting to beat Arthur to the exit. "Heroes always go first!" He burst into the outside from the hole in the ground and jumped onto the parked motorcycle, Arthur following not long after, sliding in behind him and putting his hands on his shoulders.

"Go now!" Arthur barked out, fingers digging into America's shirt in impatience.

"What? Where?"

He pointed at a narrow street a few metres away. "Through there!"

"Got it!" America revved up the engine and sped forward, twisting past fruit stalls and buildings.

Arthur craned his neck to look behind him. "I think some of them are still after us. Bugger, they've got bikes of their own," he said, causing America to growl in frustration.

"Goddamnit! Okay, I'm going to try to lose them! Don't you have any extra ammo or something?"

"I used it all up trying to shoot the frog." Speaking of which, why wasn't he chasing them?

"You seem like the type to have a rocket launcher built into his bike."

Arthur snorted. "I like to think I'm a bit classier than that." He bit back a yell as another bullet nearly grazed his cheek. "Oh God damn it all, give me that!" He wrapped his legs tightly around America's waist and lunged to the side of the motorcycle, ducking under America's arm and grabbing the other's hand on the bar and swerving to the right. He clutched tightly onto the leather jacket for stability.

"How did you-?" America began incredulously. Arthur smirked and tugged hard at the handlebars, increasing their speed. "Whoa!"

"Hold on to your hat, boy," Arthur grinned. "This is how it's done." He let go of the jacket, placing his other hand on America's to steer them properly.

"Wow, you're really flexible."

"Thanks. It comes with the job."

"I don't want to know- hey, watch out!" America yelled as Arthur swerved to avoid a building.

"Oh, belt up, you coward."

"You're the one who almost ran into a wall!"

Arthur rolled his eyes in exasperation. "Please, I happen to know what I'm doing. Now shut up and let me drive- have we lost them yet?"

He could feel America twisting around to look behind them, and tightened the grip his legs had around his waist to keep from falling off. "I can't see- ah shit. There's at least two of them still, and- ah hell, of course they'd be gaining on us."

"Tch." There was a large, curved stone block ahead of them, one that looked like it had been used for construction but thrown away at some point. It would do perfectly for what Arthur had in mind. He went even faster, hitting the makeshift ramp at a frightening speed, sailing through the air to land on a flat stone roof. "If this ends up breaking my baby, remind me to kill you when this is over," he growled, enjoying the whimpers of fear his passenger tried to suppress. He looked down, hearing a crash, but he couldn't make out what happened as he cruised his way from rooftop to rooftop.

"Hey, you're driving!" America protested. "How can you blame me- AAAH!" He cut himself off with a terrified shriek as Arthur drove them off a roof to touch the ground in a jarring impact that nearly dislodged him from his death grip on America's waist, if not for the hand that the taller whipped from under his to grasp his ankles.

"Are they still following us?" he demanded.

"How do you expect me to see behind us when you’re wrapped around me like this?"

Unseen by America, Arthur smirked amusedly. "Oh, I'm so sorry," he said in his most patronising tone. "If you can't do it..."

"You're a bastard, you know that?" America grumbled.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Behind him, Arthur could feel America straining to twist around. "There's just one of them left now," he reported.

"Brilliant." Arthur increased their speed, the houses flashing by in a blur. There was a steep concrete ramp ahead of them, leading into the first floor of an unfinished building, the space between the steel supports just barely wide enough to fit the bike. Arthur heard America mumble incoherent sounds above his head as they approached, and he grinned widely.

They hit the ramp with a jolt, and hurtled toward the interior of the building. Arthur heard the roar of another engine do the same. They sped closer to the too-narrow corridor, faster and faster until the wind tugged at his cheeks and ripped the adrenaline-fueled shout from his lips... Then Arthur abruptly pulled up the handlebars at the last second, forcing the motorcycle into the air with all his strength, reveling in the explosion that was their pursuier crashing into the steel supports. They soared through the air as the machine spun them upside down in a wide arc, leaving Arthur disoriented but exhilarated as the wind screamed in his ears and the ground rushed up to meet them. They landed hard, both of them bouncing in the seat, and Arthur swerved to the left, cruising through narrow side-streets until the bike came to a stop.

They sat there for a moment, half cast in shadow and the bike gleaming in the streetlights, breathing heavily. It was America who broke the silence first.

"Okayou can get off me now," he whispered, and Arthur was pleased to hear vestiges of terror and more than a hint of awe. He moved his legs away- or tried to. He hissed and his eyes involuntarily watered as electric jolts of pain radiated from his thighs.

"This is- ah- harder than it looks," He mumbled, flushing slightly.

"You got us into this!" America complained, then he sighed. "Here, just let go of my hand. That's it," he encouraged as Arthur gingerly lifted throbbing fingers from a hand that had turned white from the pressure placed on it from both sides. He held on to the front of the bike for stability and grit his teeth against the pain as America held onto his waist and slowly, gently pried his legs apart.

Arthur wobbled slightly when his feet touched the ground, and winced as the blood returned in a rush to his thighs and calves. "Ow. Now I'm a little sore."

America stepped off carefully, kicking the stand and rubbing his chest. "Yeah, I bet you probably broke a few ribs," he grumbled.

Arthur reached up, holding his breath and stretching his sore body, eltting it out in a great, satisfied sigh as he relaxed. "Oh, I wouldn't go so far as to say that." They studied each other in the half-light, the silence thick and awkward between them. Eventually it was Arthur who spoke first. "So..."

"Yeah." America's fingers twitched, then he held out his hand with a grin. "I guess I should officially introduce myself! I'm America Jones."

Arthur hesitated, then politely shook the hand offered. "Pleasure."

"And your name is...?"

"Arthur." His lips quirked up into a smirk. "Kirkland, that is."

"Well, it was nice running into you, Arthur!" America winked at him. "Try not to get tied up by any more Frenchmen any time soon, okay?"

Arthur made a face at the mention of Francis. "I don't plan on that happening ever again." With a grimace he swung his leg over the bike and sat, switching on the engine. He would have to stop by a service station soon, he thought. His bike needed gas, and maybe some new tires; all those stunts had taken their toll on the poor thing.

"Hey!" America's voice interrupted his thoughts. "You aren't gonna just leave me here, are you?" he demanded. "You've got us lost! I've got no idea where to go!"

Arthur sighed exasperatedly. "Fine. Get on, then."

America beamed at him. "Thanks, Artie!"

Arthur could feel the blood creep up to his cheeks and hoped it was dark enough to hide it. "Useless brat," he muttered without contempt.

America slid in behind him. "Let's go!"

"Where to, idiot?"

Without even having to look, Arthur could feel the wide grin that spread over America's face. "Adventure!"

Arthur smiled, revved up the engine and sped off.

Besides that this was well written and all were IC (esp villain france XD )
I love Al's name (XD ) and and and GAH this is awesome in so many many ways. Nice real reactions at the end I imagine that would hurt and they wouldnt be able to walk off completely unharmed.
