Liechtenstein, Sealand, Carica, and Latvia were members of the Club Outside the World Meetings. And Lithuania took it upon himself to look after them.
“I know you’re strong, but taking on England and Russia at the same time seems a bit much, don’t you think?” Sealand asked reasonably. “I’m gonna be a big nation too, and soon, so don’t let it get to your head,” he added.
Liechtenstein put in, “I don’t know if you should seek independence at all.”
Carica tilted her head. “All the other colonies got away from him. Australia, Hong Kong… and…”
Sealand didn’t press the matter, but helpfully added, “Me!”
“I don’t like Europe,” she said quietly, and Liechtenstein inclined her head. “Why not?”
“Too far east. I don’t like it. England left me for entire years on end before, but now that ‘France can get at me’ and not ‘feel bad about it,’ which frankly he wouldn’t have anyway, but I digress. I want to go back West.”
Latvia shook and stammered something to Lithuania, who turned around and nodded at Carica. “America called that manifest destiny. He always felt odd in Europe, and left as soon as he could. He hardly ever even set foot in Asia. You’re just drawn to the west, the same way you turn invisible sometimes. It’s just something that makes you like them.”
Lithuania had turned around halfway through and choked on his words. “You can come work at my house,” Carica tried.
Lithuania smiled weakly.

“You can’t declare war on my colony,” England said simply.
“I’m afraid he already has,” Estonia replied, trying to hide his sympathetic tone.
“Then you’ll have to take me on, too.”
“It makes it just that much more intimidating then, da?”
England, flustered, came back with a fairly weak, “What did she even do?”
“You would like to know why she is missing ‘tea’ with you, da?”
He hesitated. “How would you know about that?”
“She’s been attempting to get me to cede Lithuania to her, along with Latvia and Estonia.”
England paused. “You don’t control them anymore. They’re independent.”
“As she intends to be. She wants to earn her independence from you,” Russia clarified.
England recoiled. “She wouldn’t do that to me.”
And with that, he scooted back and out the door, bodily picked up Carica, and walked back to the embassy.
America gave him several sheets of parchment. “I’m leaving, England. I’m going to make my own country, and it’ll be great.”
England teared up and America gathered him into a hug.

Then, England stabbed him.
