The Lion's Cub (revised) (2b/?)

Scotland was regarding his sulking brother with smirking superiority, the right of any older brother - though the expression, on his unicorn’s visage, was transformed into something beautiful and delicate. That rough-hewn, ruddy Scotland, with his perpetual five-o-clock shadow and built like one of his rocky mountains, had turned into an elegant, graceful unicorn - with limbs slimmer than a stag’s, a neck arched so that Arabs would weep with shame for their finest stallions, mane and tail that flowed like rivers of silk, horn and hooves that glittered like the sun on mountain tarns, all of him cast in shades of purest ivory and shining gold…..
It made England grind his teeth. And his teeth, now the fangs of a great golden lion, dark-maned and green-eyed, were quite formidable when being ground.
And then, using a sort of mental speech they seemed to share between them, France asked the room: “Wait. Has anyone seen America and Canada?”
A flurry ensued.
It was the canids who found them of course, the Italian wolves ranging ahead of the steadier Germany and Japan, but looping in circles while they forged steadily on. In the end, the whole pack of former Axis powers found them at the same time, sticking their noses under an ornate wardrobe. North Italy suddenly drew back with a yelp, his muzzle bleeding from thin scratches. Lovino instinctively snarled at what had hurt his brother, and the answering wails of angry fear, high and thready, made him blink and step back.
Without another word, Russia wrapped his great arms around the wardrobe and lifted it bodily off the ground, hurling it to the side where it collapsed into a splintery heap. No one paid it attention, least of all England and France, who had bolted without thinking to the wardrobe when they’d heard those cries.
Cuddling to each other, making small noises of distress, lay a small white bear cub and an even smaller lion cub - America and Canada.

Anon is awwing at how utterly adorable that last scene would be - when she got over crying with laughter about the Austria/Australia/New Zealand/Korea/etc comment, and melting into a happy puddle of goo because of the mental image of China/Japan bear cuddles. (Aussie!anon would like to point out that New Zealand & Australia are both younger than America and Canada, but as you`re just doing the G8 .... :but wants to see a baby dingo trying to pounce on a baby sheep...:)

I'm glad you liked it! :D And I was considering putting in Australia, yes as a baby dingo, but I don't know very much about you and even less about New Zealand, so I felt a little afraid. *sweatdrops*

I vote for Aussie as a dingo or kangaroo and New Zealand as a Haast's Eagle (freakishly large bird of prey that could carry off children, now extinct http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haast%27s_eagle).

This was adorable! I was hoping that you'd go with turning Canada into something other than the Beaver. Don't get me wrong, this Canadian!anon loves her national animal, but with a choice between a polar bear and a beaver, polar bears win hands down.
Although I can't help but wonder what Kumajirou's reaction to the transformation will be.
Of course that's assuming that it's Canada that got changed into the bear and not America. Then again, Kumajirou's reaction will still be interesting if it's America that got turned into the bear.
Please update again soon! This is really interesting! I was going "Aww" nearly all the way through.

OP here! As soon as I saw this I went SQUEE! Didn't think about everyone being animals...and some National Animals too! (The idea of Turkey America! has now amused me beyond all belief.)
I have to say I am in love with lion cub! America and white bear cub! Canada... *eee* This fill is just so cute ^^ Now I want a small furry animal nation 8D But fightingbull! Spain is just awesome..I love Spain so much too <3

Yay OP! I'm glad you like this. And cubs America and Canada are the main reason I wanted to write this. Heh, and I'm glad you like Spain too....Spain is a favorite of yours?

Uwaaaaaaaaa. I am making high-pitched noises of ridiculous glee and adoration right now, authornon. SO CUTE. I love that you've picked up on the idea that the other nation-tans in the room are European and Asian powers with a significant weight of ancient history behind them, and the North American brothers are comparatively very young.
I also love the fact that they're instinctively cuddling and protecting each other, because I adore platonic twinly love in North America, it kills me with adorable awesome. AND France and England automatically reacting protectively--IT'S LIKE YOU'RE IN MY BRAIN.

Anon, your comment made me grin. Right now I'm workin on another fill (it's long overdue) but I am now raring to write up the next part right away after. And yeah, cub!NA twins surrounded by the grown Nations is exactly why I wrote this - that and England and France going badass Papa Wolves (despite being felines) if something so much as makes America and Canada sneeze. This is going to be fun.
