Alfred woke up to an empty bed.
He didn't frown, because he heard shuffling in the kitchen. He stretched and left the bedroom.
Arthur was sitting at the coffee table, calmly sipping something. "I found some unopened tea in the back of your pantry," he said. "Hope you don't mind."
"Nah, it's fine," Alfred replied, pouring some coffee out of the pot. He sat down across from Arthur. "Uh, thanks for, you know, staying."

"Do you have to go to work today?" Arthur asked.
"What's today, Friday? No, today's my day off," he said. "Do...you have to work today?"
