Some point during the Cold War (would prefer 70's onwards but anytime is fine) Pilot Alfred either flying a solo spy mission or just somehow goes off course and misses being picked up by the Soviets (or both) runs into technical difficulties and crash lands in some remote part of Russia. Lucky for him the owners of the property he crashes on, Ivan and his sisters, see/hear the crash and go out to investigate and pull him from the wreckage and take him back to their house and nurse him back to health. When he comes around their understandably leery of each other Ivan knows only minimal English and Alfred knows only minimal Russian but they slowly learn to communicate with each other as Alfred tries to get his communication device on the plane working again so that he can get someone to come and pick him up and out of there if possible. (Extra credit if Ivan eventually helps him fix it and Alfred helps out around the house/property as they prepare for the oncoming winter, double extra credit if Alfred is stuck there through the winter.)
Unexpected friendship and eventually romance with a bittersweet tinge develops (to them it's wrong on so many levels and they both know Alfred will be leaving), smut would be a plus but is not necessary, eventually they do get the radio fixed and he does leave.
Bonus: After the Soviet Union falls Alfred does everything possible to locate Ivan and his sisters. If he's successful or not I leave up to you but I would love a happy ending.
