I may have danced around the room gleefully myself. :D I'm so glad you updated, anon; this fill is in my "Loved" folder in my bookmarks.
As always, your physical/emotional descriptions of Arthur just break my heart in the most beautiful of ways. This? Alfred was giving him that look, that crushed, disappointed in you kind of look that killed Arthur a little each time he received it. I can actually picture that look, and it kills me a little, too. And this description is enough to make me swallow convulsively myself: Swallowing down the weight hanging in the back of his throat ... ;_;
Poor Arthur is finding harder and harder to enjoy those "I love you"s, isn't he?
Alfred's thoughts about Arthur sneaking out lighten things up a bit, only to subtly punch you in the gut when you realize how little he knows Arthur (in some ways): Arthur was probably just restless and wanted to go on a walk. He did things like that… probably. It was like one of those old people things to do, Alfred was sure of it. And old man jokes are never not funny when it comes to Arthur.
I'm almost afraid to see the next scene. ^_^; But I'm looking forward to my heart breaking even more, somehow.

lol, I'm really looking forward to writing the next scene. Things are gonna get intense pretty fast. Poor Alfred will be in for quite a ride though /:
