Most in the household, including the servants, generally called the Grand Duchess by her first name and patronym, Anastasia Nikolaevna, and did not use her title or "Her Imperial Highness." She was occasionally called by the French version of her name, "Anastasie," or by the Russian nicknames "Nastya," "Nastas," or "Nastenka." Other family nicknames for Anastasia were "Malenkaya," meaning "little (one),"[7] or "shvibzik," the Russian word for "imp." -Wikipedia
I got curious and wanted to check if the Nastenka was right. Seems like it was. \o/ I suppose Ivan might call her with different nicknames though, since it seems like Russians like to do that, depending on how affectionate they are feeling, or something. xD Oh and I also found "Nastasya" and "Stasya" are used for girls called Anastasia so I guess those would be okay too. Apparently there's also a tendency that one nickname is used when scolding someone but I dunno how to form those. They seem to be short and end with -ka, right?
And now I imagine France calling her "Anastasie" sometime, not realizing the princess was called that too, and poor Russia going down sobbing at the memories...
Also, I just had to read the whole article on Anastasia. orz Bawwwwww. I didn't know half of that stuff, to be honest. God, even my basic facts were based on the animated movie....
A bit randomly, it really bothers me that Russia doesn't have a patronym... I mean it's okay as long as he's with foreigners but among his own people it'd be really, really weird, as far as I know anything about the culture... But well he doesn't have a canonical father...
