Mochimerica Gets Hungry (3/?) anonymous January 9 2010, 12:13:36 UTC
Thanks for the comments, guys! I hope everyone enjoys the debauchery.
The dirty stuff won't happen for a few more parts. Sorry about that.
Also, for those parts I decided that the plural of mochi is mochi. Like "hey, look at all those mochi". Do you think that's right? Smut is so confusing sometimes I swear

-----------------------------
That night, as he sat down to work on his most recent stitching project, he heard the soft whining again. He tried to ignore it, but after a few minutes he let out a sigh and went to unleash the mochi from its small home. He set it down on the couch awkwardly after making sure that it was clean and sat next to it. Mochimerica stared at him with that same expression and England sat perfectly still, wondering what to do next. How was he meant to entertain this thing?

He reached over with some hesitation and poked it. The mochi wobbled at the touch and shut its eyes. A moment later, it opened its eyes again and watched him some more.

Well, that achieved nothing.

England was tired of this. He figured that he’d done enough coddling and went back to his stitching, glancing over once in a while to make sure that the blob wasn’t going to bounce away. After a few minutes, he felt a nudge near his elbow. Mochimerica’s expression was the same, but it was obviously trying to get his attention.

“Yes, what is it now?” he asked. The mochi leapt onto his arm and moved up to his shoulder again. He blanched but before he could throw the thing off, it was nuzzling his neck gently. He blushed bright red. It was weird but it didn’t feel…bad. His own expression eventually turned from one of shock to one of complacency. Alright, fine. If the mochi wanted to cuddle with him, what was the harm? They were alone, after all. The fact that he wasn’t going to get his nightly call from Alfred didn’t hurt his decision. In fact, this affection was almost like having a perfectly silent Alfred keeping him company. Brilliant.

England continued to work quietly on his project while the mochi rested on his shoulder, providing him with a tiny bit of comfort and warmth, until it was time for bed.

He awoke the next day and lazily got ready. He saw the mochi watching him from the corner of the room and almost smiled. Having a blob stare at him wordlessly had certainly been unnerving at the beginning, but he was getting used to the (admittedly strange) company. As he started to remove his shirt from the night before, he heard a new noise come from the kennel. He wheeled around and looked at the mochi with suspicion, but the small creature was in the same position as before. England turned back around and continued to remove his clothing, but he was now acutely aware of the large blue eyes that were watching him so closely, and the mischievous little smile that accompanied them. He felt his face going red and when he reached down to remove his pants completely, he found that his hands refused to continue. He glared at the mochi as he grabbed his clothes and ran to the toilet to change.

When England looked into the mirror and saw how hard he was blushing he nearly choked. ”You disgusting pervert,” he thought. “It’s just a blob. It’s barely even alive!”

Of course, deep down he knew that there was nothing inherently wrong with feeling uncomfortable when something with huge eyes was watching you undress, but at the same time, acknowledging it made him feel incredibly dirty. ”It is not Alfred,” he told himself firmly.

I laughed quite a bit with these lines:

"He reached over with some hesitation and poked it. The mochi wobbled at the touch and shut its eyes. A moment later, it opened its eyes again and watched him some more.

Well, that achieved nothing. "

and
"In fact, this affection was almost like having a perfectly silent Alfred keeping him company. Brilliant."

Keep up the good work anon! Now, if you'll excuse me...

Once he was dressed and ready for the day, he left the mochi in his room while he went to pick up some food. After completing various tasks he returned home for lunch and brought the little blob downstairs into the kitchen. He prepared his lunch with great concentration, and it wasn’t until he sat down to eat that the mochi started to annoy him with its mysterious noises. He ate as much as he could stomach with that chorus of grunts and squeaks ringing in his ears, until finally he let Mochimerica out of the kennel. It immediately bounced from the floor to the chair to the table and started to poke around the dishes.

England panicked over the safety of his crockery before he understood what the creature was doing.

“Oh, so you do eat.” Some instinct from the recesses of his mind guided him towards the table, where he began to cut bits of food into bite-size pieces, which he then presented to the mochi on a plate. He also poured some water into a small dish.

Mochimerica approached the water. England couldn’t see the mechanics of it, but it looked like the mochi was drinking. He felt a pang of guilt in his stomach, and encouraged the little blob to eat something.
The mochi picked up a bit of food in its mouth. England sighed in relief, thinking that the dilemma had been solved. Instead, the mochi shut its eyes tight and promptly spit the food back out.

England’s first reaction was to shout, “UNGRATEFUL LITTLE-“, but he stopped himself. Maybe it wasn’t judging the quality of his food. Maybe it just needed something in particular.

The mochi tried out a few more things on the plate and spit them all out in turn. England went into his fridge and brought out a variety of items (an egg, a bit of lettuce, some cheese) and prepared a sample of each. Mochimerica didn’t seem to like the egg or the cheese. He nibbled on the lettuce for a while, but never actually swallowed it. Exasperated, England took a piece of bread and crumbled it up. To his surprise, the mochi seemed to enjoy it. The creature consumed most of the slice before it stopped and closed its eyes contentedly. England smiled and cleaned up the mess, pleased that they’d finally gotten somewhere.

He stood over the sink and cleaned his dishes thoroughly. On the table, the mochi gave a strange shudder. England didn’t notice.

The following day felt even more lazy than the last. England had spent the previous evening reading by the fire with Mochimerica by his side. He was becoming quite fond of the blob, even if its gaze occasionally sent shivers down his spine. On this day, after having his lunch and feeding the mochi some bread, he was splayed on the couch watching afternoon game shows. Normally he would never willingly engage in such an activity in the company of others, but here with the mochi resting calmly on his chest he just felt too peaceful to give a damn. He felt warm and sleepy and slowly drifted off to the sound of Noel Edmonds’ voice.

England awoke with a start. He’d been napping for a couple of hours and it was getting dark outside. He wiped the unpleasant drool and debris from his face and lurched forward in horror when he realized that the mochi was no longer on the couch. England ran around the room turning over pillows and looking under tables until he finally heard a quiet noise. He followed it, and saw that the mochi was resting neatly in its kennel. Before he could be grateful that the mochi hadn’t gone missing, the creature looked up at him and shook violently. It only lasted for a moment, but it was enough to make England yelp. After regaining his balance, he waited to see if it would happen again. The mochi stayed perfectly still, but England was distressed.

He went to the phone and dialed Kiku’s number, hoping that this new behavior was normal. When Kiku didn’t answer, he took it to mean that the nation was occupied with something very important. Japan always answered his phone promptly unless he was dealing with official business. Ah well, there was probably no reason to worry. If the blob was prone to illness then Alfred surely would have told him. England decided that unless there were any other signs of danger, he would wait and call Japan again the next day. No use in bothering a busy man. ”If only Alfred thought like that, I’d be able to get so much more done.”

The mochi was silent in its kennel for the rest of the night. England thought about taking it out and letting it cuddle with him again, but he didn’t want to disturb it, in case the mochi really was ill.

England was substantially less worried when he turned out the lights with a silent mochi in the corner of the room. As his eyelids became heavier, he thought that he heard another noise. This time it sounded like a faint ‘pop’, but when he looked over at the kennel the mochi was staring back the way it always did. He let go and allowed himself to slip into darkness.

“HOLY CRAP!” America yelled, snapping to an upright position in his seat. He was in the middle of yet another meeting, surrounded by a slew of very important men and women discussing the economy, or something like that. America had been daydreaming, slouching in his seat, when he’d remembered something very important. He hadn’t told Iggy what to feed Mochimerica! If the mochi didn’t get fed properly…….oh shit. The people sitting around the table all turned to look at him after the loud exclamation, but he brushed it off and they resumed the discussion. It wasn’t the first time he’d interrupted a meeting with random noises or shouting or snoring.

As soon as the meeting was over, America hid around the corner from his boss’ office and waited for him to arrive. Once his boss was inside, he straightened his tie, knocked on the door and entered.

“I have a very important favor to ask,” America said before he’d even sat down. His boss sighed.

“I told you, Alfred, no personal calls. Look, you’re already doing much better this time around. You haven’t fallen asleep during any of the meetings. Today.”

“But…I….i-it’s extremely important. An urgent matter, sir.” America sat as upright as he could and put on his serious face.

His boss eyed him dubiously. “Is it life or death?”

Alfred hesitated. “It might be, for me,” he thought.

He’d waited too long though, and his strangely perceptive boss knew that any words out of his mouth now would be a bluff. “It can wait, Alfred. Our progress this week could determine our success over the next decade, and I know you can buckle down and contribute if you put your mind to it.” The man leaned forward and clapped Alfred on the shoulder. “I believe in you,” he said forcefully.

America was filled with pride, even as the pit of his stomach sank. There was no way he would be able to get to Arthur at this point.

But Arthur was smart. He’d figure it out in time. He’d probably called Japan by now or looked it up in a book or something. Of course, there was nothing to worry about.
Nothing at all.
