“O-Okay.” Greece’s body didn’t feel that cold, but Japan knew that he was probably still feeling the effect of the raindrops on his skin. Sharing body heat did sound like a good, or at least plausible, idea to stay this close together. “We really should start walking back home soon, though. It should be much warmer at your place,” Japan continued.
“But we haven’t done anything at this beach for today,” came Greece’s reply. He didn’t seem in a hurry to go anywhere in spite of the constant hammering of the rain going on over their heads.
Japan frowned slightly at that. “What else can we do here when there’s a rainstorm…” His voice trailed off as a possible answer dawned on him, and as if to confirm what was currently running through his mind at full speed, Greece took this moment to wrap his bare arms around him and nuzzle at the crook of his neck.
“…going on?” he finished lamely, trying not to fidget even as Greece’s mouth traveled from his neck to his ear. Pulling away from the other nation meant possibly tumbling out into the deluge of rain, which Japan’s mind somehow classified as a worse situation to be in than this.
“This,” Greece said simply, shifting so that Japan could see his face more clearly and also see that his eyes were half-lidded with an emotion that was quite the opposite of sleepiness. Japan swallowed and tried to resist the urge to press up against the other nation’s mostly unclothed body as he felt Greece pull him half into his lap for better access.
“Greece-san, it’s really not a good time…” he protested as best as he could, trying to look back at the beach to remind himself that the rain had grown so heavy that he could barely see the ocean - and was it his imagination or were its waves getting more turbulent?
“Why not?” Greece said, as if the rainfall going on held no significance to him, and he brought his face even closer to Japan’s as if to make clear just what things he considered to be significant. “I’d hate to leave this beach without at least spending some time with you on it.”
There were so many things Japan could have said in reply to that: We can do that just as well back at your house. It’s a bit cramped here underneath the umbrella with the two of us. The rain’s getting even harder as we speak, and wouldn’t it be prudent to move somewhere else first?
But Greece was currently nibbling on the corner of his lips, which made opening his mouth an option only if he wanted to end up meeting Greece’s own parted mouth, and Japan couldn’t quite remember if there were any other options outside of that. And considering that Greece had persuaded him into making out in places like his kitchen counter, his mother’s ruins after he decided she wouldn’t mind seeing her son being so loved, and against an ancient pillar as unknowing tourists strolled past them, it wasn’t as if Japan had never been in a situation similar to this before.
So even as the rain kept on falling around them in sheets, Japan wrapped his arms around Greece and brought his mouth up to connect with the other nation’s.
