Matthew was fuming by the time he had finished his hearty breakfast of pancakes.
Honesty, what he wouldn’t give to go out there and wring Alfred’s neck!
He might have thought it’d be funny to cut his hair so it was an exact replica of Alfred’s own hairstyle but he, at the very least, was less amused by it and more irritated. He already had a difficult enough time as it was, what with people thinking he was America and as a result he got the brunt of anger that was meant for his southern neighbor.
Now people would really think he was the American.
Grumbling to himself, he ripped open one of the dressers and practically growled when he saw only Alfred’ bomber jacket folded neatly atop blue jeans and a T-shirt.
Cursing quietly he yanked out the jacket and threw it viciously on the bed where it laid there in a crumpled mass.
A knock interrupted his metal rant on why he should beat up his brother and he unhappily yanked open the door, glaring at the man before him.
“Mr. Jones, sir, we’re ready as soon as you are to take you to your car.”
Matthew’s face fell and he stared at the man, who had to be someone from the Secret Service because Alfred was so paranoid, and he wondered how this man could be so willing to give his life up to protect his nation when he didn’t even realize he was not America.
He intended to correct the man but just shook his head and with a sigh, decided to play along for just this once. What harm could there come from him pretending to be his big brother? Besides, hadn’t he always…wanted to be like Alfred?
The thought made him uncomfortable and he double checked to make sure he had his key lest he become just as forgetful as his brother before closing the door.
Sighing mentally, Matt began to try to strike a conversation with the man beside him though he knew he was more babbling on about nonsense then actually talking with the other. He did fall silent when they reached the car.
“Mr. Jones, sir, wait right here and do not move for any reason. Mr. Williams is due out any moment so you should be leaving shortly.”
Ah, yes….’Matthew’ was going to be riding with him. He hadn’t seen his brother as of yet but as soon as he did, he was going to have some words with him about parading around as someone he was not.
Besides, how could they mistake Alfred for him?
Shaking his head, he leaned heavily against the car, crossing his arms as he stared impatiently at the door.
Figures Alfred would take his time.
Oh, but he spoke too soon. There he was now…and…boy, did he ever look like Matthew. It was weird, like Matthew was staring at a living mirror. He raised his arm as though it had a mind of its own and waved obnoxiously at Alfred. Or at least he thought it was Alfred, though for all he knew it could really be himself, Matthew, and he could actually be Alfred.
A grin stretched across his face though he didn’t know why, he didn’t feel that happy.
He saw Alfred (or was it Matthew?) smile back, if only faintly, and he felt himself draw in a breath of air as he opened his mouth to shout out a greeting.
“Hey, Al--…!”
The words died on his lips as he saw a bullet wiz through the air, aimed directly for his brother’s heart.
He briefly wondered if his brother was indestructible like Superman and if the bullet would just deflect off his chest but then he remembered that
Alfred was disguised as him and that meant he didn’t have his super strength but instead the power of invisibility and…and…
A few stray droplets of blood hit the ground.
His eyes met the resigned but happy, oh how content Alfred looked right there, sky blue eyes of his brother who wasn’t his brother anymore but instead was him.
And he was supposed to be falling.
He felt a numbness begin to spread through his body at this realization, watching as his brother mouthed out his last words:
“I love you.”

Then he was falling, falling, falling onto the ground and he felt screams pierce the sky as the world was forced into action once more.
People scrambled wildly around and he felt his body jerk forward in an attempt to rush toward his dying, dead, alive? Brother.
But it was all for naught as he was being roughly shoved into the black car, voices barking directions and he saw that in the car sat his Prime Minster and the President of the United States of America.
He stared blankly at the two, not understanding.
Had they been in this car the whole time? Had….had they known?
The last thing Matthew remembered of the car ride, as it led him farther away from where Alfred lay dead on the white concrete, was screaming.

I thought it originally would just be two but LJ tricked me and as a result, it ended up being 3 all together. Talk about confusing. That aside, I hope this is satisfactory to the OP and that I did someone justice out there by writing this.
Notes: All the countries and their respective bosses are staying at the same hotel--> an unofficial meeting is suddenly called by the United States of America. No one clearly understands why but they all show up, knowing the issue is urgent because the president is adamant about most of the worlds powers being there. What no one except America and Canada -not Matthew himself- know is that a terrorist group intends to kill a nation, one Matthew Williams, to see if a nation can die by human hands. Matthew would be fodder, just a test to see if it could happen before moving on to more important nations, such as America. The plan would be that if Canada was in chaos over losing their 'nation' then they might be able to gain an upper hand over America. Their intention was never really clear, all that was really understood was that they wanted to murder Canada
