"Where's our parents?" Alfred asked. Of course, Alfred had to start with the difficult question. Even with amnesia he had to be difficult, but then again Matthew could take that as a sign that his brother was still there somewhere, deep down. He just needed to bring his brother to surface again.
"When we were young, mom and dad got divorced. You stayed with dad in America and I went to Canada with mom," Matthew answered.
"Oh…" Alfred said in a guilty tone.
"Hey, don't get down Alfred," Matthew said. "It's not like you knew. You're going through a hard time right now, so don't waste your time feeling guilty that's not you fault."
"Ok, so what are we doing here?" Alfred asked. "I mean not in the hospital, but together."
"Well in the few times mom and dad could be civil with one another they decided that for high school we should probably be together again, and rather than fight to see who has who, they settled on sending us to World Academy," Matthew explained.
"Do they know I'm here?" Alfred asked.
"I'm not sure. The school would have probably called dad by now, but I'm not sure about mom. I was going to call her when I got back to the dorm," Matthew replied.
"Um… who was that Gilbert person?"
"Oh, that's a senior at World Academy. He's a military nut, and goes around saying how awesome he is. He will also tell you he's Prussian despite the fact that Prussia is dissolved state," Matthew explained.
"I see…" Alfred trailed off. "Well… what was I like?"
He sure has a knack for asking the tough questions Matthew thought to himself.
"Let's see… you were loud, obnoxious, kind of an idiot, had a tendency to kill the mood, and proposed the most outrageous ideas and drove some people completely nuts with them," Matthew said in a deadpanned tone as he watched Alfred's face fell at his rant, but Matthew slowly replaced his displeased look with a smile. "But you were optimistic, cheerful, and always had a smile on your face. Even though your ideas were completely inane, you always meant well and there are people who admire you."
"You know you scared me at first," Alfred said, after about five seconds of silence.
"Sorry, when I usually describe you, we're usually fighting, so you can say the beginning was out of habit," Matthew apologized. "But no matter what, I'll always love you, Alfred. That's why I'm here to help you. You are my brother and I know you would do the same for me if I was in your situation."
"Matthew?" Alfred said in a questioning tone.
"Eh?"
"Would you stay with me tonight? I don't want to be alone tonight."
"If that's what you want Alfred, I'll be happy to stay here."
"I really do."

I can't help it if I love some good brotherly love. This is what happens when I write, I write the dorkiest friendship stuff ever. I'm such a sap. We're seriously spending more time in the hospital than I originally intended. Next update will end the hospital segment... I hope. Whenever I write some characters like to delay what's happening and get more screen-time then originally intended. >.>
One of my most favorite parts in this update is that I finally got a chance to make Matthew say "eh"... don't judge me! XDDDDDDD
I should have another update sometime next week~ <3
