Re: Split Mind Part 2.3 Review for Francois and Arthur anonymous July 24 2009, 03:44:27 UTC
Okay, I just did a review over the part with Francois and Arthur. Really, only the first two, and last, paragraphs have changed, but I have put in a few more details, if you want to read this one instead. I should really review before posting...

It was very late, and Matthew had finally fallen asleep. During this time, Francois was briefly visited by a late night guest.

Arthur thrusted into Francois: both were trying to keep their voices down. “You didn’t tell me you worked… for Ivan, Francois!”

The Frenchman breathed when Arthur drew out. He swallowed and said, “Well, that’s- that’s what happens when we don’t… see each other for ten years… Anyway, I didn’t really work for him- per sa… I went there once a week, that’s all.”

The Englishman thrusted in again and breathed, “For Matthew?”

They stayed silent for a moment. Arthur drew back as Francois continued, “Yeah: they use to have a maid, she looked after Matthew until he was four. But Elizabeta left so I volunteered to cook, since Natalia didn’t bother. Something to do with ‘I might get my hands and hair dirty,’ or something stupid like that-”

His breathing hitched as Arthur went in one last time. Francois crunched up the hair in his fist, causing the Englishman’s eye to twitch in pain. They breathed again as Arthur drew out and slumped onto the Frenchman’s chest. He sighed and asked, “Heard you were thinking of getting your job back. What are you going to do about Matthew?”

Francois brushed his hands through Arthur’s, now knotted, hair and said, “I’m thinking of putting him in school, or at least a day care centre, but I want to wait and see if this is working yet.”

“It’d be hard since he’s use to being home schooled. He might not do well around other children… I met Alfred today.”

Francois’s eye twitched. “And?”

Arthur looked up and stretched his arms out, before moving them behind the Frenchman’s neck. “Reminds me of myself, back when we were in high school.”

“Yeah, we were pretty rowdy back then, weren’t we? You know, maybe next time, I can be on…”

Arthur moved his lips onto Francois’s, who opened his quite wilfully. They tongue lashed for a moment before drawing apart. The Englishman said, quietly, “I’m seeing the child for free as a favour to you, so you owe me.”

“I thought you hated me…”

“I don’t hate you, it’s just…” Arthur laid his head on his lover’s chest and continued slowly, “I think it’s just the way we were in those days. But I think we’ve come along way… And even not, I can’t turn my back on a child.”

“Have you grown fond of Matthew too?”

Arthur didn’t reply. They held each other close, before Francois drifted off. Sighing, Arthur got up and snuck out of the house.
