Anyone in Chicago want to adopt some kittens? My friend is fostering four teeny kittens and is looking to give them away (free) to good homes. She'd like to adopt them out in pairs. I wish, wish, wish, wish I could take a pair, but I'm just not settled enough to have any pets in good conscience.
Oh, and I had a creative writing fit when I was at work today. Didn't read much Foucault, but did scribble down character outlines, bits of dialogue and narrative, plot points, etc. It was the strangest thing. Maybe I do have a novel in me, after all. Wouldn't that be wonderful? I may not go to HARVARD, but I'm not stupid enough to plagiarize and make up bullshit excuses. Internalizing good writing is one thing, but regurgitating it repeatedly and "accidentally"--I'm sorry, I just don't buy that. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/03/opinion/03kenney.html
