Title: Hymns
Characters: America
Challenge: 8- Music
Bonus Words: loud, fast
Rating: G
Summary: America enjoys singing hymns at church.

Whenever America attended church, he found that the hymns were probably the best part. There was so much feeling, so much emotion in these songs that he couldn't help but get swept up in the hype. He would sing loudly, holding the old, worn book in the palm of his two hands and grinning widely.

As a child, he never really sang much. The Puritans weren't all too big on singing or dancing. He had to sit up straight and keep his mouth shut and memorize every single little verse that the Bible brought forth. He had to endure those sleepless nights because the pastors would loudly exclaim that everyone not like them was evil, that they would all be condemned to Hell.

And he was different, wasn't he? He wasn't a human. He was a nation. He didn't want to go to Hell because he was different.

As time went on, though, the religion slowly died out, replaced with more joyous ones, religions that praised the Lord and welcomed everyone to the church with open arms and smiling faces.

Finding he liked these churches much better, America would always attend whenever he was given the chance. He would always greet the members and pick up a hymnal and sing. He didn't care whether the song was fast or slow, boring or fun- it always lifted his spirits up and just made him so very pleased to be living.

Title: Micronation Eurovision
Characters: Sealand, Wy, mentions of Sebroga and Molossia
Challenge: 8- Music
Bonus Words: melody
Rating: G
Summary: Sealand has yet another plan to be recognized as a nation.

Sealand narrowed his eyes up at the sun, straining his ears to listen to the melodious sounds of the waves, of the birds, of the couple laughing not far off from his spot on the beach.

“That's a seagull,” Wy suddenly exclaimed, pointing up at a lone white bird flying in the sky.

“I know!” Sealand shot her a grin. “I was born in the ocean, you know. I see seagulls all the time.”

Wy huffed. “I was simply trying to start a conversation. Seborga is just over there listening to his iPod or something, so he won't talk to me, and Molossia is over there trying to start something with that couple.”

Ah. That's what that yelling was that was piercing through the evening. Sealand suppressed a giggle. Molossia was funny sometimes. “What's he listening to?”

“Seborga? I have no idea. I suppose it's the Italian Eurovision song. He played it nonstop to me the other day.” The young micronation rolled her eyes. “He's sore Italy didn't win.”

“I'm sore they didn't even-” Sealand suddenly sat up and started waving his hands wildly. “Idea! Idea! To get recognized as a nation, we should all make our own Eurovision! Everyone would watch it and it'll be so cool and I can rub it in that jerk England's face that I scored higher than him!”

And cue another eye-roll from Wy.

A/N: [Hymns]- I never liked hymns. Up until recently, I mean. I still don't sing them, but I do enjoy listening to everyone else sing them. ^.^

[Micronation Eurovision]- I had to write something with Eurovision, and Sealand popped up. Duh.
