Why This Must Be Read:Written for the 2006 Yuletide, this take on the tale of Beauty and the Beast is a brilliant rework that puts Belle in the driver's seat. She is not a daughter sold into servitude, but a witch. And The Beast is still a cursed Prince, but differently so. His “cure” is a lesson - for both of them. There's also a snippy squirrel giving ediorial comments that makes me giggle. All in all, the best version of the story I've read.
