Why This Must Be Read: I may be cheating a little in recommending this fic-it’s het in the sense that it follows canon (and therefore C.J. and Danny are married with a kid), but the focus is much more on C.J. and Toby’s ongoing friendship (just friendship). You know what, though? I don’t care, because this is a gorgeous illustration of both characters and how they relate to each other, and it’s refreshing to find that in a context that doesn’t undermine either’s romantic relationships or pit partners against each other.
