Why This Must Be Read: A beautiful shading together of the Avengers/Captain America verse with the X-men, this story has SHIELD agent Darcy doing a welfare check on a traumatised Logan at the request of her old schoolfriend, Rogue. It’s long and talky and strips both characters back to their emotional bedrock as the slow burn romance ignites, then is put on the backburner as Darcy learns to deal with it. If nine delicious chapters aren’t enough for you, circusbones has another long story and several vignettes set in the same verse under the series name ‘Borrowed Things’.
