Why This Must Be Read: While this is technically the second in a series, the first is not a major player in the series, and the ship doesn't appear at all. Anyway, this is what happens when Dawn is snatched into a whole new galaxy just before the battle with the First. After spending a LONG time alone (& growing up in the process), she encounters visitors as they exit her new world's stargate. She certainly never expected to meet anyone from Earth! This story is exciting and fun for the most part. It has drama, romance, action, and humor mixed in. Watching Dawn and Ronon learn to trust and accept each other...then seeing the romance blossom makes this story a top-must for crossover and Dawn fans. There are 5 stories in the series (counting the first one), and of the four which center on Dawn & Ronon, one is 35,000+ words while the other three are 100,000+ words. An enjoyable, epic time of reading!

While this trope has been done many times, this is an enjoyable one showing the search, understanding and growth between Buffy & Dawn and the Stablers. Ah, but what about the ship? Well, it is there...when it first shows up, it is mostly behind the scenes - little bits of set up for the moment when Eliot meets Angel and discovers a few more had truths. Another sweet little romance blossoms between Willow and Bobby when she follows Buffy to New York.

Why This Must Be Read: Although this is not a WIP, it does have an open ending, and I hope someday the author is tempted to write a sequel. The buildup to the ships is realistic and drawn out. The attention to detail may turn off some readers, but it really does help set the scene in your mind, not to mention bringing the hardships of the characters into sharp focus. Of the story itself, the author's blurb says it best: "Call it a test. Call it what you like. How else would one explain the appearance of Buffy and a Clone, a Witch and a Soldier, 14k years ago?" Buffy, Jon, Willow, and Xander - before malls, airplanes, running water...or heck, much civilization at all. Definitely worth a look!

How do all the new ships affect lives and jobs of those involved? Go forth to read and laugh.
